Pls review the aune ar5000

I respect gustard for trying, the R26 was a real milestone but they are still not there yet unfortunately. The R26 is ugly as sh*t. The X-30 is much nicer, OKish in midrange, questionable display. And costs 2X the R26! 😱 I’m wishing for a nextgen R26 in a decent housing, below 2K EUR. And the huge question is - do they ever introduce a good software to make it a capable streamer, adding streaming services?? The hardware is there, software is missing.

Great review, the only drawback is the marketing for this headset. They are all but unattainable. Only releasing 250 units every 3-4mo makes them impossible to get. I know because I have tried. SMH 😢.

Or else you could boost the bass by using EQ. Then you have much better control over the bass then some tube amplifier.

Best challenger for the Hd 600 from good old Senny. Those do almost everything well for their category, effortlessly , detailed and neutralish-warm. I agree with the "WALL OF SOUND" and the better separation Vs the 6XX. Although I prefer the mids from Sennheiser coupled with a good tube amp this does the rest better. Great purchase IF you have a powerful tube amp!

Does the R4 stand any chance against the R6P2 or R8ii ? And how many volume steps do you listen to on high gain ?

I wanted this but it can only do Tidal Online. Too bad. I went with the m23 which I got for $200 more than the Shanling m5 ultra. If the third party apps are not limited I would have picked the Shanling m5 ultra due to the price difference.

I have to possibility of getting a used one (although not a lot, the owner is the first user and bought it in January 2024) for around $775 / 700 euros. Would you guys say this would be a good investment for the price?

I listened to these headphones for 2 hours and these headphones are a joke. I tried every type of music before finding anything that impressed me (a trumpet). They otherwise thoroughly disappointed me and I bought Meze Empyrian with iFi Pro iDSD/iCAN, which was mind blowing. While listening to the Seinhesser, a client came and bought them without even listening to them and I was told this was typical buyer behaviour. Tell me what volume you have to play them at? Almost 100%, right. Stupid price. Just a toy.

How contradictory : you make a video about an hi-fi product and your video sounds like shit. I see that you have a lav mic attached to your collar. Then why, WHY, do you use your cheap computer mic to record your sound? It distorts, you have a ton of background noise, etc. It sounds horrible. Why do something if you don't do it right? Have a little pride in what you present. When will perfectionism make a comeback?

Nice Review 👍🏻 I agree with what you say about the FD5. Its clean detailed sound with great bass and emphasis on midrange makes it a great buy. Im comparing jt with Pietus Maximus (Ess) and its a tough run. I feel its has more midrange and Pietus goes slightly deeper in the bass departement by a small margin. Waiting for another power supply to see if will make FD5 even better.

Will it sound good paired with DT770 Pro 250ohm?

When the device is connected to PC, does it turn of /on external speakers when it's activated / deactivated?

I have an AHB2 with a Parasound P6 pre driving a pair of Usher BE 10's, no fancy cabling - just balanced short runs from an Oppo 95 and the Parasound, it's so revealing and the sound stage is perfect, I don't feel it needs a second amp, one does the job as I have a smallish room.

While I appreciate the importance that SMSL and Topping had on this specific market (cheaper good quality dac/amps)...I WOULD advice someone looking for a musical different sounding Dac to look elsewhere. If all you need is an honest unit with good connectivity...just get one!
