This and the way Everton have supported Liverpool through Hillsborough genuinely warms my heart. Some rival clubs use tragedies against each other in horrible chants, but Everton and Liverpool support each other during these tragedies and it is heart warming to see.

All clubs support each other in general terms. And most intelligent fans. But portions of each fanbase, as in general society, are brain dead morons.

Rhys was not in the wrong place at the wrong time, his murderer and those who shielded him were, all should have been locked up long before this. I dont believe this was the only crime committed, people were too intimidated by this scum , and his sad spectacle of gangland entitled brats to speak up. If they had been taken off the streets sooner,Rhys would be alive today. So desperately sad .

To be fair its nothing to do with any sets of fans being better than others it's about being a decent human being irrespective if it's a big rival or not he was only a young boy who loved his team you wouldn't wish that on anyone let alone a child.

I’m a Man Utd fan but I will always say that Liverpool fans have a collective identity that I rarely see else where. These fans are a credit to their city and their club and their club is a credit to English football.

Well done to Everton and their real fans for all the great support we’ve had during our troubled times. Please, let’s not let this new generation of SKY saturated scum with their evil diatribe spoil our very special relationship we’ve had eternally.

Even in New Zealand we have so much respect for the Merseyside brotherhood. One of the greatest sports rivalries on the field but in times such as this ....... you set such a loving example to the rest of the world. To Rhys's Whanau (Family) we send much Aroha (Love and respect), your boy will never be forgotten and will live long in our hearts. To the people of Liverpool and Everton................ coming together........ inspirational, uplifting, compassionate and just restores some faith in mankind. God bless you all................... From all your fans in New Zealand ........ Big Jim xxxxxxxxxxxxx

I'm not a Scouser by birth, my grandfather was. He instilled in me the love for Everton and a love for a city that held part of my story. I'm 64, and I know it's not perfect, but I like to think Liverpool will be the last place I live, after a life of moving around.
