Hi!!! Thanks for the review! Comparing to medela symphony, how is the suction? I´m. getting back to work in 3 weeks and the simphony is too big to carry so i am going to return it to the pharmacy I rented from. Thank you!!

I’m not saying this is a crappy pump it does work well but make sure you replace your tubing a lot because mine definitely got milk all in it and I found mold as well 😔

Is the output significantly better with this pump than the freestyle flex? I’m trying to decide between this one and the flex. What would be your choice if you could only use one?

I would choose this one because I find the suction is better!

Depends on the type of batteries you use but it should be around 2 hours or so.

Great video! I’m expecting a baby boy in a month. And I was wondering do you think it’s worth the price? A lot of reviews say the suction is not good and it takes longer to pump compared to other pumps. What are your thoughts? Thanks!
@a2zmama5483 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I personally really do like this pump. I haven’t really had problems with its suction so I do think it’s worth the price. Especially if you can get it on sale or with a coupon!

I got this pump and its waaayy better then the old version. The suction is stronger and the microvibrations are great. Work well for me. It is loud though.

I agree!

This is a great pump. I had the pump in style advanced out of the hospital and hated it. This is much stronger and better at emptying me. I do agree a timer and level screen would be nice. But its really good. The micro vibrations are great and work for me. Also the bag is nice! The closed system is awesome. My old one used to get moisture in the tubing every single time. This never has. Also the suction on this to me feels much stronger then the medela symphony. Which I also have. And rarely use it.

I find the breast shield too short for my comfort. I have the 21mm, but with my previous Medela pump, the shield was longer and I could see the milk coming out, now I can't and I feel like my nipple hits the yellow membrane. Any advice? Or suggestions for longer shields?

Thanks for the review! I was wondering if you could help me decide between the different Medelas though. I'm due with my first at the end of November and I'm trying to decide between the Sonata (previously used for 6 months priced at $250), the Freestyle Flex brand new (with a discount for around $360), the old Freestyle (used for $220), and this new PIS with MaxFlow tech brand new (with discount for $270). I know each have their pros and cons but I'm so overwhelmed with all the different features. I'm planning on taking 12 months for maternity leave and likely won't be out too much given the pandemic. Would you say the tech on this new PIS outweighs the portability of the Flex?
@a2zmama5484 жыл бұрын
I haven’t used the Sonata so I can’t comment on that. The only thing I would recommend is to make sure that if you are buying a used pump, it is a closed system for hygienic reasons. The Freestyle Flex is a great pump but it is pretty pricey. So if you aren’t going to be needing a portable pump, I wouldn’t necessarily pay the extra money for it. I spent my first mat leave being plugged in to a pump (I’m not an exclusive pumper but I do pump once or twice everyday...more in the beginning of my babies’ lives). Once I got the flex, I enjoyed being able to do chores, etc while pumping. If this isn’t something you see yourself doing, in my opinion, the price tag isn’t worth it then. I haven’t used the old freestyle either but I don’t think it’s a closed system. It’s also a portable pump so I’d be wary of buying a used battery as you don’t know exactly how much life is left on it as batteries lose their ability to hold a change with time and use. I have my gripes with this new PIS but I do really like it. If price wasn’t a factor, I would buy the freestyle flex because it is portable, it works well and the screen and app connectivity is great. To save money, I would buy the PIS MaxFlow because I find it to be more efficient with milk output even though there is no screen, timer, etc. It’s easy and simple to use with nothing fancy. Hope this helps!

What am I doing wrong? I had their old one but it broke and I got this one to replace it. I can't get it to work for me. I get less than a teaspoon out but my breasts are still full.
@a2zmama5484 жыл бұрын
If you were getting more milk with other pumps, I would perhaps contact customer service to make sure everything is working fine with the pump. A properly functioning pump itself shouldn’t decrease your output like this if you are using it correctly. Hope they can troubleshoot with you!

Thanks for the review!! Think it’s Obvious but I want to make sure before I order. I used the medela pump in style two years ago for my first and have lots of extra parts. I can’t use those parts for this pump right? Looks totally different other than perhaps using the plastic shield if I needed to. Also, do u know if they make other shield sizes? I was a 27 last time and the rubber shield def sounds like an improvement! Also hoping I can use the same medela bottles I used two years ago too
@a2zmama5484 жыл бұрын
They do make other sized shields that you can buy separately. I’ve seen the 27mm. It’s a new pump but it’s parts are the same as the flex so you can buy replacements and extras if needed. The tubing and connectors are completely different so I don’t think you can use those interchangeably with the two pump in style pumps (unless someone has figured out a clever way to work around it).

Thanks for the review! I’ve been waiting for reviews but only find unboxing ones. I already ordered the pump and was crossing fingers, hoping it better have more good points on reviews once there is! 😅😁. I did notice right away that we observed the same few cons while you’re demonstrating it such as there’s no screen and the clicking. 😟 hopefully i’ll manage. Thank you so much momma! 🥰

Great review! Do you find that this is significantly louder than other pumps?
@a2zmama5484 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I’ve used the Medela Freestyle Flex, Symphony and the Pump in Style Advanced, and compared to those I find it louder than all except the Symphony. If I’m pumping on the sofa with the pump placed on the arm of the sofa or if it’s on a cloth on the table, the noise isn’t as bad and I find that to be more manageable. If it’s just sitting on a table without anything underneath, it is pretty loud, especially at higher speeds.
@sarahpotteiger45204 жыл бұрын
A2Z Mama thanks for the info! I will be pumping at work, so I’m a little hesitant about how loud this one is but I love that it’s so small and compact.

Have you liked it? How much time does it last with the battery?
@a2zmama5484 жыл бұрын
I do like it! The battery pack doesn’t last too long. I got about five 20ish minute sessions out of it and the suction isn’t great. If you are looking to pump on the go often, I would suggest looking into getting a portable pump. I have the Medela freestyle flex for when I need to pump on the go, and it works great.

A2Z Mama do you prefer this to the original pump in style? I’m due for a new one, and my insurance will cover either. Also, do you find the shields too short? I’ve read some issues with nipples being pulled all the way up to the adapter.
