Some of the modern junk buildings that block the line will have to be demolished and the railway made all the way from Linton to Barnstaple.
@KeithTucker452 күн бұрын
They have been trying for at least 10 years to extend the line but keep being obstructed by lots of red tape and one landowner who won't sell or lease his bit of the trackbed!

@@KeithTucker45 Shame on that land owner!! He or she should be ashamed of themselves!! If I had the money, I’d compulsorily purchase that land and give it to the LBR.

I’ve been to both Linton AND Barnstaple at two different holidays, but never rode on the Linton to Barnstaple Railway!! This is another heritage railway for me to visit in the future.

Well worth a visit even if the rail journey is very short but you can ride the trains for as long as they operate. Has a good café too!

Woodbury Quay is a lovely little layout!! But I just can’t place the location properly. It’s obviously a quay on a canal, but I just can’t place it in the country.

The layout was originally called Windrush Wharf, after the River Windrush in Oxfordshire.

The 009 at the end looks like the old military railway in the Canterbury area. It was built to transport equipment to the ports.

Another stupid "Kiddy Toy Train Set show". There wasn't a single "Model Railway" shown !!! Even the EM layout was using a SR Class 33 on freight in South Wales ! The earliest use of 33's in South Wales was on the Portsmouth to Cardiff passenger service from the late 1970's. A Class 25 would be far more likely in South Wales on mundane freight jobs !!!
@KeithTucker453 ай бұрын
You are, of course, entitled to your opinion but I don't agree with you. I also feel that you are doing a disservice to both the exhibition organisers and exhibitors. The organisers spend a lot of their own time and effort arranging the exhibition and the exhibitors spend a lot of their time, effort and money building their layouts. How they operate them is surely up to them. If the exhibition brings in the general public, surely that is to the benefit of the hobby.

There were 2 crane scenes. The one on the American layout wouldn't be seen on an English layout. The one on the Lego layout represents one that would have been seen when a London station was refurbished.
