What a gorgeous layout!! It’s not just the trains that make a layout great, it’s the scenery as well!!

just goes to show you don't need a massive set up to enjoy model railways.

David R Lentz, Columbus, Ohio, USA (Thursday, 18 July, 2024) is this 1:76th-scale? T-gauge (strictly contemporary Japanese) is 1:450th-scale; Z-gauge (generally German) is 1:220th scale; N gauge is 1:160th-scale, HO-gauge is 1:87th-scale; S-gauge is 1:64th-scale; O-gauge is 1:43rd scale (some use it with 1:48th scale); 1-gauge is 1:32nd scale; G-gauge is 1:22 or 1:24th scale (some use it with 1:24th/1:25th-scale). I am no expert on any of this-just poor at maths!

Very nice. Thanks, Like the commentary. Good to know the background,gauge etc . Really adds to the interest. Much better than some which just jump from one layout to another. Enjoyed and subscribed. Thanks. Howard

Thanks mate. I don't think I have another exhibition until Oct now but still have a couple to edit. I've got a small N gauge project idea in the works using a large part of my daughter's built in wardrobe which we took apart. Only thing is....I don't own any N gauge....yet. Plan is to start on it after the summer event rush and then baby is due start of Sep, so around Oct I'll be looking to join the club and get cracking ready for the 2025 season

The layout is beautiful as an artistic composition. Very evocative of a lost world which i just saw the end of. Straight out of Delderfield. Nice model railway too with really good cottages.

This layout isn’t dissimilar from my layout of Walmington-On-Sea, now known as Walmington cum Yealmington. At its inception, it was due to represent the television series “Dad’s Army “.

To me it looks like the layout is built to represent the Bluebell Line because of the locomotives in use. It looks like one of those stations on that line.

Beautiful layout, very nice branch line scene. Very nice scenery set up. The only thing I would change are the in and outgoing track tunnels, I would cover them with a side relief of a stone arch build bridge, that would make it perfect….

Hi, just wanted to let you know your recordings are top quality. Particularly like the way you mix up zoomed out shots of the layouts with some nice close up work. Too many of your co videographers overly concentrate on close ups with interminable rakes of stock slowly passing a static scenic item (a pet hate of mine). The zoomed out shots provide context and a reason why a train is going from A to B. Very nice work with a bit of commentary to set the scene. Thanks for the upload!
@SHGPMediaАй бұрын
Thank you I really appreciate that. I do spend a lot of time filming and editing these videos. A pet hate of mine is when some KZfaqrs just rush home and upload straight to KZfaq for the views, not editing or removing any derailing or stoppages. I can spend 30mins at some layouts just to get a couple of minutes of footage of it running well, as I try and make every layout look it's best. I only recently acquired a proper video camera and have been doing exhibitions with my phone for the past couple of years. Having a zoom and better stability really has opened up the shots I can get now. I'm glad to hear it's well received

Nice to see something on youtube that is not totally depressing, like world events or politicsl spin. I loved the layout with the bedford OB and the 57xx, very very Titfield I might add. The delights of model fantasy, and the attention to detail in the scenery is amazing.

The steampunk layout is absolutely gorgeous!! It’s a regular visitor to the Whitewebbs Museum of Transport Model Railway Day.

Longwaite is a nice depot layout. It’s somewhat like the idea I had for Wincanton Milk Yard. The main difference is that it’s a locomotive storage yard rather than a yard for siphoning milk into tankers.
@MadonsteamrailwaysАй бұрын
My current layout represents the old television series “Dad’s Army’, but has been changed to a heritage railway rather than being pure 1935-45.
@MadonsteamrailwaysАй бұрын
I’ve had several different ideas for layouts, one of which would be Wincanton Milk Yard. Although I remember it very well indeed, it was too complicated for me to model because of my disabilities.

Thanks for covering Cato Inferno. Nice to see some footage of our layout at a show. Still railway modelling but from a different angle. Can't get anything 'wrong' but you need to do something very different to stand out. Thankfully the audience responded so well. Thanks to everyone who liked our layout. Thankyou.

There's a Deltic and a class 40 -- did I miss the 37?
@theSignallingGuyАй бұрын
@@beeble2003 🙈I'm just getting into Diesel, I'm mixing up 37s and Deltics I think 🤣
@beeble2003Ай бұрын
@@theSignallingGuy No worries. 😀 Normally, it's the other way around -- look at any video of a class 37 on KZfaq and there are sure to be comments from people saying how much they "love the Deltic sound". 37s, 40s and 55s (Deltics) do look quote similar. The big difference is that 40s have eight axles, whereas 37s and Deltics have only six. Deltics look much bulkier than 37s. The nose is much taller, almost flat on top, and the top and sides blend into the front with a very rounded curve. The nose of a 37 is shorter, with a more pronounced arch on top, and the top and sides blend into the front with only a slight curve: just a slightly rounded-off right-angle.

I’m an N modeller and hate to see layouts, often N, where trains are run too fast with tight corners at each end. Not only is your layout beautiful but you operate your trains at a realistic pace, love it!
