Very respectable work... bringing a discarded and broken old tool back to a new life. I sure wish somebody would do that to me.

Nice restoration. New subscriber. I did a restoration on an old hammer I found at my parents cottage years ago and flamed the wooden handle with a propane torch. I lightly sanded it and coated it with clear varathane and it looked great. I always liked how the flame treatment raised the grain in the handle.

ok here we go Again.. when you want to use Heat to remove a screw or bolt... you DO NOT heat the Screw or bolt (Heat makes things expand) you heat what the screw or bolt is screwed/bolted into this will expand the piece and thread slightly thus allowing the screw or bolt to be removed easily if you heat the screw or bolt you will expand it and make it a tighter fit....

The metal handle was way better in my opinion but you made a very nice wood handle too!

all that beautiful work and you didn't bring the handle completely up into the hammer head socket, slit the handle head and use a wooden wedge with that epoxy. loved the work on the hammer head

hammer heads should be slightly domed. a flat head will contribute to hammer head marks, especially important with trim hammers. now that I threw my 2 cents in., amazing retrieval from the scrap heap brother.
