and that's the answer of why old ACs are a lot colder than todays ACs. todays AC companies are prioritizing efficiency rather than a coldness so that's why they have a much smaller wattage than the older ACs, even they sacrifice the cooling capacity too

@@TheeXtremeFanEnthusiasti think the refrigerant matters too. The old good R22 which used to cool down quickly and in winter while heating outdoor could freeze really quickly. Today everything is R32 and inverter here in Italy and Europe

@@anvil_08 refrigerant doesn't really matters in my opinion, but cooling capacity does. even R32 is supposed to be much colder than R22 does because it has a higher cooling index than the R22. the cooling index for R32 is 160, while the cooling index for R22 is 100. as an example, i have two 9000 Btu/h Panasonic ACs with different refrigerant. one is R22, and one is R32. in a healthy condition, the unit with the R32 refrigerant feels a lot colder than the R22 one. the reason is because my Panasonic with the R32 refrigerant has an extra cooling capacity, it hasn't been sacrificed so which is why it can cool down my room very quickly (even when it was installed in an oversized room for its cooling capacity back then).
