For some reason this glow version of the kit was molded in ABS plastic, and has a tendency to come apart down the road, so Used some CA glue.

Nice of them to give you two copies of the figure in the kit. Your wooden base is miles ahead of the kit supplies base and all the extras are very creative and well done. It makes a fantastic looking diorama. Looking forward to seeing what's next.

I could understand the 'doubling up' on the Weird-Ohs seeing as they are so small. (Although I can't understand why they don't mention it on the box as that would sell more kits). But I was really surprised to see this from an "Aurora" monster re-pop. While I'm sure the 'Glow in the Dark" factored in since all the doubled parts are the Glow parts, but then why not do the same for The Bride were the figure was Glow in the Dark? As a long-shot, I'm hoping that I can trade this spare complete kit for another Monster I don't have (Witch, Mummy, Wolfman, Hyde or Frankie).

No, I don't sell my models as I'm just having fun and put them on my shelves to enjoy. These days the shipping changes would make them very expensive and not worth selling anyhow. " Uber" great build, I've always wanted to build as many German experimental aircraft as possible, then realized it would probably take years just to find the kits and equal scales, I still may put it back on the bucket list. Definitely enjoyed the format of your video. Fun and informative which is what modeling is all about. Cheers

There are a lot of experiment craft from other countries as well that always look intriguing as they are different and often just 'cool' looking. I alway do a bit of 'research' (OK, googling to be precise) and do learn something about almost every one of the model I build. To me it's all fun including the few gags, pictures, and sound clips I like to spice up my videos with. Trust me that I'm having as much fun editing the videos and I hope people watching them enjoy. @@dariosmodelbuilds Definitely watching and subscribed . I just received a " experimental " kit that is very interesting from Amusing Hobby. The Me 262 HGlll . It was going to be the replacement for the Me 262. Its unique because Amusing Hobby made their models to put the pieces together in a different format and minimize the need for filling seam lines. Like you, I wanted to use the kit colors so ordered them to match. Plus its 1/48, 1/72 is OK but small for my old lion paw fingers :-) Although building up a large collection 1/72 is better in 1/72. I had not heard of this company and that's the other part of models these days, the manufactures have risen exponentially from the good old days its hard to track them. See you on the next video Cheers Bob.

This video popped up at just the right time, I was taking a break, and I couldn't have had a more fun time! My Dad has this one in his stash and I've been tempted to build it for a him a few times now and I think I'll need to. It's a really fun looking subject, and I really like how you've painted it up with the RLM colors. I'm personally not a huge fan of the Vallejo Air Colors, I've never really had luck with them in the past, but their Mecha Color Red is an excellent color for the Red on the X-wings. I had better luck with them this past year when I painted a Bell X-1 Orange, and that was the first time I really figured out how to spray them. But a big factor for me is that I just don't like prethinned paints too much, I find that they are usually too thin for my liking and I just prefer to thin them myself.
@dariosmodelbuilds
@dariosmodelbuilds Ай бұрын
I was very apprehensive using this paint for the first time given a lot of negative feedback I heard. But I had absolutely no issues at all and would not hesitate to use it again. There is something to be said that you can't 'un-thin' a paint (perhaps letting it air out for a while?) so either it works or it does not. Glad you liked the video.
@c123bthunderpig
@c123bthunderpig Ай бұрын
Hey rebel, I'm also learning to use the Vallejo paints, due to just one hobby store in town that carries just them and Tamiya. I did just order some MIG to try and match color scheme on a model like Dario. I have the Bell - X-1 on my build list but kind of scared to start it because of the orange color - would you mind sharing your orange pick I'm getting better with Vallejo especially since I figured out the two formulas, however when looking at the racks - you go color blind. Thanks guys appreciate the help.
@rebelsatcloudnine
@rebelsatcloudnine Ай бұрын
@@c123bthunderpig Hi there, I'm trying to remember what the exact colors I used were. I had the model published, but that magazine is in storage now. I can't recall the exact ratio of paints, but I used Vallejo Mecah color (I don't know if they still make them) 69.001 Pure White, and 69.007 Orange. The Bell X-1 is a really tricky subject, as that orange is a very pale orange, so that's why I remember adding quite a bit of white to the mix. I looked at pictures and video from the event and not the X-1 that's in the museum, that one is too dark. When it's out on the desert you can really see how light and almost pale it is on the ground. Sorry that I don't have a better answer for you, but this is just what I can recall.

@dariosmodelbuilds

Not an option. Spark plugs, or any sort of spark generator requires very high voltages so the power source would be big. And unless you get to kilovolt range, the sparks would be quite small. I do happen to have a 10,000 volt source (old neon sign transformer) that I planned to make a full size "Jacob's Ladder" but never got around to it. :)

Those candles were tougher than you think. I cut them out of some stretched sprues I had and they kept flying off or falling onto the carpet monster every time I thought I had two fairly similar thickness candles. This was repeated again when I tried to get two matching candle bases from thicker sprues. If I could have found something that was the approximate size of a plate I was going to try to make a bowl of fruit to put between the candles. Had to give up on that idea. 😳
