I met Mr. Berry in the 90’s of all places waffle house. I worked there and he was playing at the colisium across the street. He was staying at hotel behind us. Such a sweet man. He autographed a napkin for me. I played this song on our jukebox and he actually sang along with it. Such goods from working at that waffle house. Met a lot of people. WWE wrestlers, music artists, actors etc

No auto tune no ear buds just a guitar and a microphone. Yet all these folks today warring these ear buds to hear the beat or honor that and to me it sounds way different than yesteryear. I’ll take old school guitar and microphones and no let’s play with the music sound too make it sound better crap. Music singers from 90’s and back didn’t need all the extra crap they use today to try and make it better. Let’s just have talented people singing not taking a karaoke singer adjusting his vocals electronically and putting him/her on stage.

I've loved this song since I first heard it in the early 90s. Had it played at my wedding. I'm now 30 years later sitting here crying over the loss of my baby girl golden retriever who was mauled by the neighbor dogs and succumbed to her injuries. :'( Then John Berry comes on the radio with this song. I'm taking it as a sign from my baby girl, who I miss so damned much. Thank you for such lovely lyrics, John.
