yes that does as well as the glycerine and water Pam from Paperoutpost has a video on that. Look for this from about 2 years back. "Make Faux LEATHER & "SUEDE" from a Paper Bag! "

Amazon is the most reliable place to get vegetable glycerin. Drug stores often sell it in the U.S. I saw some by the pharmacy at Wal-Mart a few times, but you're right, it can be hard to find.

You can use one-layered carton, paperbags (then maybe without or much less glycerine), Kraft-paper, packing paper. The thicker the paper the more glycerine you'll need, the thinner it is the greater is the danger that the glycerine just lets the paper desintegrate and it will fall apart when you crumple it. You can also use handcream or cheap hair conditioner instead of the water-glycerin mixture. Therevs glycerine in it, too.

I tried this a few years ago but I found that all the lovely wrinkles were flattened out once you emboss it.
