CHiPS a programme I remember very well without Larry Wilcox, Crawford/Mathews was in charge of the California Highway Patrol to which this was dedicated too - 10-4.

You noticed that too? He could imply so many expressions with a look. I just finished watching him in "All the Kings Men". One of the best there was. Him and James Gandofini {Tony Soprano) spitting images.

Chips was filmed on new highways being built in the California area . Nowadays it's congested with traffic 24/7

Wow this is super cool. I used to watch chips a lot but yeah I grew up watching Broderick Crawford on highway patrol. As a kid I loved it and I still do I watch it all night KZfaq whenever I can. It was a classic very well made. If I had it my way I'd be a young adult back in the late '50s. It was a wonderful time in America unlike this insanity that's going on today. I have fond memories of in the afternoon when I lived in hacienda heights in the '60s. I would sit in front of the TV with a TV tray. And watch highway patrol eating the tuna sandwiches my mom made me. What wonderful memories. I wish I could go back. Love in Christ Jesus. Pastor Duane and Chico Pup

Old Broderick outwitted those 2 clowns, he was a major alcoholic and got busted a few times whilst doing his tv show, the local police considered him a total embarrassment due to his multiple stops and arrests for dui.

Many people have mentioned BCs hard drinking. Just watched the final Highway Patrol episode: Bank Messenger. He clumsily knocked the phone receiver off the hook, and didn't even notice! He looked a bit drunk. Yet he could still bark out rapid fire orders. 2150 to headquarters, bye!

As a Kid, I watched Highway Patrol and as an adult 67 years old I still watch Highway Patrol that is how good and fun that program was, they don't make them like those 2 shows anymore.

I still watch the Highway Patrol episodes...Broderick Crawford was the man! A few stars that appeared on the show- Barbara Eden, Clint Eastwood, Leonard Nimoy, Stuart Whitman and even William Boyett who played a patrolman, he later played a Sergeant on Adam-12 series!

Also Joe Flynn, he played a bad guy who shot one of the highway patrol officers and stole a car took the driver to the woods and tied him to a tree, then went and took a husband and wife hostage on their farm.

Heard Eric Estrada was a real life deputy sheriff I think in Bedford VA if anyone can confirm that let me know and Broderick Crawford and Eric Estrada was both fine actor s in their own rights you all take care and be safe.
