As much as I love Capt America he needs to be healthy scratched. He has done little to absolutely nothing this entire playoff run. A little less for a lot more is the motto. Let’s face the facts, the dirtiest team/players in the NHL are the Panthers. Shown at a different angle, Trouba’s hit was more to the back; did he deserve the penalty and fine? Sure he did. But Rodrigues should be nominated for the next Academy Award for Best Actor! The way he writhed on the ice, I expected him to be carried off on a stretcher, but he played the next shift! Maurice’s comments regarding Trouba were bush. How can he complain about this one play when the team HE coaches continusly play like goons. Nothing to say about Lomberg’s hit on Vesey Paul, or Bennett’s punch to Marchand’s face? Were those plays “just part of the game” when its your team that commits the nasty foul?

It’s a team effort that counts in these marathon postseason runs..and really a 2-0 lead after one period can’t be much of a lead ..and guys just didn’t invest enough in that collective reality. Not on this goalie for blaming things. This is a terrific Oilers team playing a team that has veterans in the room..and sometimes what those older players say in locker room between periods is the equivalent of a coach’s 30 second timeouts.
