IMHO This Dr. Robotnik is the best, Jim Cummings definitely reveals the true dark, menacing, and generally terrifying side of Dr. Robotnik and unfortunately we'll never see this side again. Personally i prefer Jim Cummings as Dr. Robotnik...for an old cartoon he NAILED IT. Deem Bristow is another favorite Voice Actor for the Dr Robotnik as well i feel Deem and Jim truly shows Robotniks true colours and also wasn't holding back on the Harsh threats and i feel Jim and Deem are LITERALLY DR. ROBOTNIK.

Voiced by the same person who played Negaduck in Darkwing Duck, Don Karnage in Talespin, Fat Cat (and Prof. Nimnul) in Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers, and Pete. Jim Cummings is a phenomenal voice acter in every sense of the word. There couldn't have been a better studio to voice the characters in the show. And before you let me know, yes, I know he voiced other characters. This is just a list of examples.

The best line for me was when he asked what color is his heart.

This was my first exposure to eggman. I then got sonic 3 sonic CD and sonic 3d for pc and that creepiness carried over. (cd and 3d have that deep scary laugh.) Pity eggman was actually a goofy guy, but man, I wish we had this scary guy back Even if it's brief, an eggman who's a threat and unpredictable.

I always come back to watch this every now and then. I will say that there will never be a version of Robotnik that was so vile, frightening and evil. Seething with such anger as Sonic and the gang destroy his machines and ruin his plans. One that would stop at nothing to get what he wants. This caliber of villain doesn’t really exist anymore out side of comics, but who knows maybe one day we’ll get that again.

Just like how Jaleel White will always be the voice of Sonic the hedgehog. Jim Cummings will always be my Dr. Julian Ivo Kintobor (Robotnik) I miss when Dr Eggman (Robotnik) was a super villain, not just a menace like he is now

Wild how Jim Cummings made the conscious decision to make Robotnik sounds as if he's two weeks into an edging session.

This along in Sonic adventures 2 are my prefered iterations of Dr.Robotnick/Eggman

I wonder if Michael Ironside was inspired by Cummings' work as Robotnik when Ironside voiced Darkseid in Superman and Justice League. Both roles utilize breathy, almost gentle tones and yet carry an undertone of menace, dominance, and pure roiling hatred.

I'd genuinely love to see this version of eggman in a game, a complete maniac who will go to levels that can even endanger his own life with no redeemable qualities and needs no help. He can still be a bit goofy but he is legitimately scary at points. The closest we got to this version is in adventure 2, and they did the "Goofy every now and then" thing well.
