30:09 such a beautiful plane. I worked on that very PV-2 back in the early 90’s. The museum gave us permission to take whatever we wanted from the inside so we could make ours back home complete. In return we gave them all the components they needed to make the outside complete. Side note, we didn’t have any Harpoon props, so those props are actually off a B-17 that were cut down and repainted. If anyone visits the museum you’ll notice that all the props are labeled with sequential numbers.

Really stupid title! First 1/2 is what most refer to as a museum. OLD aircraft with a history that should not be forgotten. Second half is mostly outdated or used up airliners with a few that are in long term storage. If you don't know anything about what you are talking about you should NOT be posting videos about "it".

Wasted? That’s the museum. The military boneyard is across the road. It actually saves money by repurposing parts for aircraft still in service and even occasionally returning aircraft from storage to service.

It's a museum and long-term reserve storage in case of national emergency. I take it you haven't served. I probably flew on one or more of those aircraft paying the price for the freedom you live under. Kindly refrain from insulting these old, honored remains. It's like walking into a national cemetery and pissing on the graves.

Don't miss the 390th Bomb Group Memorial Museum that is within the Pima Air and Space Museum. Outstanding!

I was there many many years ago when Mrs. Timkin, the wife of the founder of the Timken, bearing company, accompanied by the bass commander blue her Learjet, 23 from her home in California to donate it to the museum. When she landed, the press was standing by and interviewed her she said this old bird needs a rest just like me! By the way, she was the pilot in command! And she was 93 years old at the time her and her late husband depended on this aircraft in order to conduct the business of the international Timken bearing company.

Some of these planes are one off demonstration aircraft that were rejected by the military for witch they were built, in Competition With other aircraft manufacturers. Every year, there are a lot of these planes reconstituted and given to our allies. The planes that you see that are sealed up are pretty much ready to go right now! during the golf war I saw them bringing them in to the hanger area and Going over them and preparing them for redeployment. The Philippines received a lot of surplus C-130’s as well as UH 1 helicopters.
