Hi Missy.. I’m house sitting atm and their only chook has a wet tail.. I washed her and soaked the feathers till they released the poop ..what a lovely girl she was while I cleaned her up.. I will do the apple cider vinegar treatment of the water and pass it on to the owner.. I hope she survives for a bit longer.. such a dear thing..thanks again..❤

So do we need to wash the chickens bottom in a tub or a bucket with lukewarm water I’ve heard use water and Epson salt or just use water and wash their rear end good with dawn dish soap and rents well,,,is any of this correct???? I have even heard of using Monistat seven,,,,but I’m not sure exactly how and where,,, back there somewhere I’m sure however???? I have to clean my chicken water daily they kick up dirt and other things in the water constantly and it’ll fool ya you look at it and it looks clean and then you come back a day or two later and look at it just right and then notice its dirty down on the bottom and I’ll wipe it out with paper towels real good and rinse it out and put fresh water in it ,,,,,,it could be where my chickens got there gleet from i guess ,,, I have a golden buff and a white leghorn and they both have an extremely poopy butt,,,some people said it was normal so I’ve left it go for a couple of months now ,,,,they said that some chickens just get messy back there and not to worry about it now I’m finding out they’re sick and I’m trying to save them. After having a single Kcup maker for years we craved a pot being made on the weekends. Researched a bunch of models and choose this one. kzfaq.infoUgkxL8yFdHfPF4ObeIwJ5JdM3i_9XLnbjUC2 We love it! We wanted a water reservoir for the single cup so we didn’t have to pour water in every cup but the other models it fed the water to the coffee pot to so by the time we made one pot we’d have no water left. This model has the traditional pour in feature for the pot and the reservoir for the cup which works great for us. Love how there is a bunch of holes pouring the water over the coffee, makes it taste much better. Only drawback I have is the way the lid is angled on the pot section it’s hard to get the last bit of water out of the pot into the machine without it spilling somewhere else.

I made 3 batches of apricot jam last year using the peach recipe in the Ball Jam & Jelly Maker book, and it turned out amazing. This year plan on the same, but the apricots are not quite as ripe so we will see. I may put them in my Ninja blender first with the lemon juice.

I made VERY hot pepper jelly: 2 Poblano Peppers, 10 Jalapeno Peppers, 8 Habanero Peppers (include veins and seeds from all peppers), 32 Oz Cider Vinegar. Blend all in a Vitamix at high speed for 4 minutes. Boil on stove for 15 minutes. Filter mixture through jelly cloth resulting in liquid with no solids. In Freshtech - 3 cups of the filtered liquid, mixed with 3 tablespoons of Ball Pectin. Select Jelly. After four minutes add 3 cups of sugar. When done, fill 4 half-pint jars and process in water bath canner for ten minutes.

If you run a mixture of 50/50 distilled white vinegar, and distilled water through it once a month, you won't get mold in the rubber hoses, do that and you will never have issues with mold. Always use good, clean bottled water in them.

our girls are still laying 10 eggs a day (we've 10 hens) and this just started. But we mix some cracked corn in with pellets, noted the cracked corn this last purchase did not have the barley in it. Wondering if that might be the reason. But apple cider vinegar it is. We change the water every other day and it's always clean and cool. However their favorite water to drink (same stuff...) is the drips from the faucet ... oy

I absolutely love hearing the story of how people got into AG. Like you, Samantha was and is my favorite. I got the catalogs in the late 80’s and would pine after her. The era was just so appealing and her collection was beautiful. Plus I looked just like her, long brown hair with bangs, always worn half up. I had some of the books but never got the doll. My husband got her for me one Christmas ❤ I have two young daughters now and I got them a PC Kirsten and Felicity. I’m now working on collecting items from each of these historical girls collections. I’m really hoping to get a white body Samantha someday.
