How do tou know whether or not the metal outer sleeve needs to be removed? I bought a full kit by nolathane (NEK12) and i dont really have instructions, the rear eye went in without needing to remove the sleeve (cant evem remember if it had one now) but the front eye is a much tighter fit, im suspecting that i need to cut that sleeve out but i dont want to make a major fuckup.

Got a video of these bushings afterwards, if they improve handling or anything? I have a 2010 tacoma prerunner, and my rear suspension squeaks like crazy. I bought this bushing set but haven't installed them yet.

Watched every part, the power of KZfaq even 6 years after you made this video. I’m doing this to my 72 Corolla on my channel, and this is the only video that accurately represents my rear axel and bearings. So glad you made this, thanks man.

Forget the wire method if you have a new screen. Use a "fein multi tool" (or similar) with a long blade or coarse wood cuter attachment.

Cool video... you made that look really easy... as I plan on doing this to my Charger to replace my windshield. Thanks for sharing. Just a quick video suggestion, keep the music to a minimum volume or even not at all. Otherwise enjoyed your video.

Nice. I have to do this same job on my 1986. Did you try to tapping out the metal sleeve as one piece 1st? I have a ball joint press with cups that might work on the whole sleeve

As a professional glass installer, this is probably the worst way you could take a windshield out. And you pay us for our tools and experience. What would be an all day project for most with no experience, and not to mention extremely dangerous for MANY reasons, takes us about an hour for most vehicles if not less. And 100% backing that your car isnt ruined, AND guaranteeing your safety when the glass goes back in. ALSO, if you do cut your windshield out, DO NOT trim the urethane left on the car until like minutes before the new glass goes in. Dude ruined the bonding ability of that urethane by cutting it back when he said the car wont have glass put back in it for quite some time, AND getting painted. If you need help bud, just ask. A little advice would save you a lot of time, money, and possibly your health.

I couldn’t disagree with you more. There is a time and a place for the type of work you do. I would gladly hire someone to remove and install glass in a newer car that is being driven everyday. However this is a long term project car. In no way in making this video has there been irreparable damage caused to this car. The only damage caused by this method was a few scratches on the dashboard. That part has since been prepped and painted to prevent more rust.
@Warriormedic68
@Warriormedic68 8 ай бұрын
@BuildsbyBailey I'm not saying you damaged this car in the video, aside from taking the urethane off way too soon. But this method is not user friendly at all, I know, I do this 40-60 hours a week on every car manufactured and sold in the United States. There are far better and safer ways to do this. Someone else might see this video and think they can do it, and they end up way over their head, and could easily damage their car beyond repair in some cases. I have seen experienced auto glass technicians do it by accident. I'm certain someone at home with no real knowledge of what they are doing, they are just following a youtube video that may not be specific to their exact vehicle and because of that they will destroy their car. More power to you for getting it done, but this is not great advice for most people watching.

When you’re getting the car painted you want the paint to bond to the metal not a layer of urethane.

I couldn't do it unless you can see you have some other problems like clutch pedal low and shifting...... But sometimes they start leaking and you can try to use some gas get maker.... Sometimes I fail in the interfere with shifting... Some type of back pressure and it puts air in the system and then you have to bleed the clutch every 2 or 3 hours just to drive it.

Is that the 300mm brake kit? The shakotans won’t clear the calipers?
@BuildsbyBailey
@BuildsbyBailey 10 ай бұрын
Not without a spacer. The caliper hits the drop center on a 15x8 with 0 offset. It clears on the 15x9.5 with-15 offset. I want the wheels to sit under the car more.

Why not just pull the old alternator and have it bench tested at an auto parts store? Or, take a multimeter and test it while the car is running. Its easy to do. You can even check it directly at the battery. Anything below 13.8v at the battery while the car is running, is indicative of a bad charging system.

Hey bro, Did you have to change the master cylinder at all to compensate the extra pistons up front and the rear pistons you did with the conversion to discs. Do you still run a brake booster? Proportioning valve?
@BuildsbyBailey

I’m currently buying all of those parts. I have currently purchased a floor mounted wilwood pedal set. This removes the booster and the prop valve. All new lines will be ran as well.
