This is basically the same question as "What do you do if you win the lottery?" The real answer is that the right thing to do isn't as "luxury" as you think. You plant a seed for money to grow, not flaunt it. The fact that he's not flaunting it means he's a humble and good person. He's earned his reputation and he's set for life, now all he needs to do in the FGC is preach or coach, make his own team even, if he wants to. The possibilities are endless.

To me is fair, he did what many couldn't on his own ability, he didn't cheat, he won fair and square, he don't own anyone nothing if he wants to be retire and chill, as long he use his money wisely and not become one of those stories of people becoming millionaire just for a few years after be in the streets bankrupt, is all fine to me, not everyone will be Daigo or Mena, and that's okay, hell is more of a great motivation, if you want to see it like........this kid won a million dollar for play videogames and retire....and not put in consideration the YEARS he spend playing KOF and SF before this even happen, welp then I guess anyone can do it, so TRY, to me is all great and good for the scene still, hope he do well in his retirement and enjoy life, still he will now be forever the GOAT, of that year in SF6, what a legend.

Uma is lame af, saw it when he took the cup. He probably gonna simp most of that money on vtubers. My issue issue lays with capcom cup being so volatile considering the life changing money at stake. mf his training partner is chris wong, someone who was arguably number 2 in the world after mena in season 1. sajam knew who this guy was, jiyuna knew who he was and both of them said he was an unknown only for the west. in his region, he is considered one of the best, he was no fraud he was just in another region, one you don't know. i can guarantee you you wouldve said the same if travis styles won and yet his bracket was jampacked, he had dual kevin, top 5 na. problem X, previous capcup winner and he has someone else too i don't remember who. he was hella close to getting in the tournament but he got cooked last second. other example: leshar, hardest bracket, came out on top. people in the west didn't know who he was, still a very very strong player matter fact even sayff, people thought he was fodder, in his current world warrior he's ranked third under punk over mena

I think it's totally fine. He did it. It's hard to imagine a bigger achievement to be had from playing SF6; he's free to chill and do his thing. I wonder if he'll still play casually-not sure how he feels about that. After all, it takes such a huge investment of time and energy to get so good at something. I seems like at that point I might not wanna totally quit playing, but rather feel no need for high-stakes competitions, sticking to just enjoying matches with buddies in a more laid-back way.

Yeah I agree, if you win a million dollars with anything and stop doing that thing, fair enough. A million is a LOT of money and you’re free to do whatever you want after that. But to me the fun side of competing in fighting games, is the competing against strong opponents. I can speak for myself for this but man I love getting totally outplayed and destroyed in fighting games. I fought someone in master who won 32-0 against me online and the only reason we stopped there is because he had to go to work. Obviously I don’t have all the energy to go much more than that, it’s something I’m working on but fighting stronger opponents always peaks my interest. But if you win against all the great players, and win a million dollars and think you know what? I’m done, fair enough. If that was your end goal, good on you and hope you enjoy yourself, but for me the hype is when I see very strong opponents fighting each other, it’s fascinating
