It's not the driving I am as impressed with as much as the memory of where to go, I would be lost after the first 2 turns ...

That looks like a lot of fun ! What is the name of the design of that car? It makes me think of a a lotus 7 clone yet i see that it has it's engine in the back.

Great Video thanks for sharing your knowledge. My Type 9 will not go into 5th gear, it stays in 4th. The stick moves to the correct position but when you release the clutch the revs stay the same. IE its still in 4th

You get time to walk the course first. It’s just a case of learning it a bit at a time. It looks a lot more complicated at first glance than it is.

To bad it’s getting rarer and rarer. Gymhana is a such a niche. I always wondered how you remember the course, another thing i will seres is what are the rules when you need to get two rear wheels behind a line.. do you need to do a 180 by the rule or is it performed to cross the line with rear wheels as part of the rule?
@stephenmorten5 ай бұрын
Glad you like, it's called an Autotesting in UK. timed runs over 2 or 3 set "tests" run 5 or 6 times through the day. front or rear wheels have to cross the line as per test diagram. 5 second penalty for not crossing the line with 2 wheels or putting more wheels over and 5 seconds for striking a marker.
@czarli5 ай бұрын
@@stephenmorten 5 seconds on such a short course seems like a harsh penalty, never thought I would say that a miata looks too big or fat :)

Brass rings are not synchros they are baulk rings when you select a gear the taper in baulk ring pushes against taper on gear to slow rotation for ease of selection

What is the engine Steve?
@stephenmorten7 ай бұрын
It's just a fairly standard Rover K series. MGTF 135 engine, mapped Omex ECU. 145 bhp but lots of low down tractable power. :-)

Hello hello, you are old school like me , I don’t understand what is the torque of the big nut 36, can Somebody tell me ? I appreciate a lot . I dissemble all because 5 speed go out alone . And looking that video I saw that he take out something from the alloy part on the side . There is a part with 2 bolt . Thanks gabriel

Thank you very much in advance, I appreciate your informative video. I have a small query, I have the same gearbox, but I have a problem with the 5th gear, it returns to neutral after walking a few kilometers, in some cases hundreds of meters, the 5th gears are in perfect condition, just like the locks of the synchronizer. Could you tell me what I should pay attention to to know what causes it?
