This needs a fact check, just like in golf with putters, surely a new bike will always make you go faster.

The peloton flywheel can be spun up, then the dial for resistance cranked and with the inertia of flywheel you can increase the total watt summation and basically manipulate the data 📈

Favero Assioma Duos! I've bought both their road and MTB pedals and swap them between bikes.

"$1,100 for super fast wheels, amazing" I out climbed a lycra wearer 2 days ago on a Trek Fx 1. I'm fat and live for the pain/have gigantic quads and calves, which is an upgrade that cost x amount of fast food and not admitting im fat. Spoiler alert lycra man dumpstered me on the flat like 12 minutes later.

I'm over 50 , a keen cyclist and mountain biker and I still manage to get KOMs and PRs without shaved legs. I may one day trim them, but not shave them. So what are the gains? Also, my wife hates it and a happy wife is a happy life.

Very cool video. Good to see your progress on your FTP. In summary I got this. 1. Get a coach. For me from that site you mention it’s $247usd per month. In Aussie thats $371/month or over 2 years which was about your time, 8904. 2. Get some time. Not sure how much but I assume we are looking at 1 hr per day and more on weekends. 3. Consistently work hard. I think I can do 3 and some of 2, but what’s your alternative to #1 thats a more economical option?
@MitchBoyerКүн бұрын
Thanks for watching! I have a new-ish video with specific training advice called "3 LIES Holding You Back as a New Cyclist" that might answer your question. Lots of coaching services also offer premade plans which can be cheaper than dedicated coaching. You don't get the 1-1 experience, but you'll at least have access to specific workouts.

Those 35,000 other men in your age group are not "average cyclists", they are people who ride enough to care about using such a program, owning a power meter, and measuring their FTP. They are not a random sample.

I dont feel it's fair to just use LA when comparing california cycling to europe. LA is just one city center/region. The state has soo much more to offer than just Socal. All along the bay area and north coast has amazing cycling routes. Eastern Sierras are also amazing.

I’ve biked in Nice, the Alps, and Girona. The Malibu hills are breathtaking and incredible, but the psycho drivers ruin it. Girona is the best for me. Nice was good but I liked Girona a lot more.

Converting energy via fat is not slow if you are in ketosis. Being carb dependant for energy is not optimal, and because of a reduced metabolism.

At the top of this 38-degree street in 2000, Ana and her scarfie friend hatched a plan for a midnight downhill slide. The two university students dragged a two-wheeled rubbish bin up the street, climbed in, shoved off, and down they went in their makeshift sleigh. As they hurtled pell-mell down Baldwin Street in the wee small hours of the morning, residents described being awakened by "a hell of a racket," which went on for some time before ending with a sickening crash. Their 50-metre dash ended precipitously when they missed a crucial turn and the bin slammed into a legally parked trailer. Ana, 19, was killed instantly, and her co-pilot suffered serious head injuries, though one wonders how they even noticed. The feat did not make it into the Guinness Book of World Records, unlike the incline of the street, as the top speed of the rubbish bin was unknown.
