Worst regret: Selling my childhood toys at fleamarkets when i was a teenager.
@justbenelsonКүн бұрын
When I was in between semesters in college, I felt like I was too old to hang onto stuff from my childhood, so I purged just about everything. I had a drawer full of old toys that I just threw away. I also straight up threw away my NES, Gameboy, Virtual Boy, SNES and N64 boxes and manuals. The Xbox and Gamecube had just been released and I figured that's the future of gaming and that no one would want to play those old games anymore. Thankfully, I kept most of the games, but I just felt like the boxes could be thrown. I was a 16 bit RPG fanatic, so I owned the boxes for most of the major SNES RPG's including E.V.O. It's painful to think that those boxes probably ended up as cereal boxes in the recycling plant. Oh, the regrets of life.

Hey guys, hope you’re doing well. Great video and topic/ conversation starter. For us, we have no buyers remorse on things we have purchased. However, we have buyers regret on things we didn’t purchase. As you mentioned, we always thought there would be a KB toys down the road. Mitch also experienced some temporary insanity when he didn’t buy a Ghost Rider #1 in very nice condition for $25 about 10 years ago. This is going to haunt us until the end of time 😄take care and we will see you soon

Sellers remorse. I only buy what i like so the times i've sold items to bankroll a big purchase i always end up rebuying and paying more than the cost of the original item. A vicious circle. I now borrow money for must have items or do payment plans on sideshow. I'm done selling.

My biggest regret is not getting things when I saw them on the shelf just because I wasn't sure if I really wanted them. I've learned my lesson though, if I see anything and I even slightly want it I just go ahead and get it cause I can always get rid of it later, and waiting will usually only mean spending more money. The only things I regret getting are the hasbro Fortnight figures. I have almost two dozen and got them all for under $10 each at places like Ollies & Ross. They look cool, and I would really like them, they just won't stand up, at all. Which I hate articulation, but that's a separate rant. And one time a couple of them fell over and broke a figure from another line that I really do like and cost as much as ten of them put together.

That is frustrating that you lost all the valuable collectibles. Great current collection that you have even so. I think about collectibles, but also remember in the end, we can't take any of it with us. I'll probably donate most of it by then if possible. Hopefully not for awhile though.

I regret 2 things 1. Listening to other collectors in the toy community about bashing my favorite toy line 2. Jumping into too many toy lines and not sticking with my favorites
@justbenelsonКүн бұрын
#2 is a principle I adhered to when I started collecting. It was by happenstance that I stumbled across a couple of giant totes of vintage action figures from MOTU to GI Joe to M.U.S.C.L.E. Men to Ghostbusters, and on and on. It was a wide variety of everything, and that's what got me hooked on collecting. I had a desire to keep everything, but it was just too much, so I instead felt MOTU was the most nostalgic for me and I kept those, but I also kept just a representation of everything else and sold the rest. That was 7 years ago and to this day, I own the entire North American run of MOTU and I have just one figure from other toylines that I played with when I was a kid and that's it. I don't understand how anyone can reasonably collect everything. I find no pleasure in cluttering my house nor keeping toys in storage containers.

Have you ever heard of anyone using an air ionizer? I’m considering putting one in my toy room for dust control because I have mostly loose figures. I have never tried a dehumidifier before. Any benefits to preventing yellowing?
@OpenByChance2 күн бұрын
Yellowing is typically caused by light exposure, (particularly sunlight). The dehumidifier helps keep the moisture levels down, and filters/circulates the air.
