Very interesting, thanks for the video. I confess that I had never heard of this style and I find it very attractive. I tried to look for some of the pieces that did not work with shape Builder to do some tests, but I did not find them. Anyway, that solution you have found seems very clever to me. 💯
@InkscapeArtWithTomАй бұрын
Thanks Marcos! Hey, if you want to do some testing with the sun and the building, I can send you the original files from Vecteezy. Just send me an email to [email protected] and I'll reply with the files. One file is a .eps and the other is a .ai, so maybe the issue lies with importing them into Inkscape. Take care!
@CTRL_SMarcosАй бұрын
@@InkscapeArtWithTom Thank you, it is not necessary. I have downloaded some files from Vecteezy and tested them. I have downloaded eps, ai and svg of the same drawing and the same thing happens with Shape Builder. So I imagine it is because of the way it was built, independent of the file type. I have not found a solution other than the method you used.

Hi again Ella. Stained glass making also looks like a lot of fun, but I haven't ventured into that yet. I agree that Inkscape is a great tool for designing things that can be placed into a "print on design" product. Take care!

@@InkscapeArtWithTom If you don't mind me asking what version of inkscape are you using? My version doesn't have some of the settings you have, Thank You!
@InkscapeArtWithTomАй бұрын
Hi Ray. I'm currently on version 1.3.2 which is the current stable version. I think at the time of recording this mandalas video, I was either on 1.3 or 1.3.1. I have found that upgrading versions is relatively painless and certainly worth it for the newer features. Cheers!

All in all a very nice video, sadly there where some things you have not explained like how you made the "drops"
@InkscapeArtWithTomАй бұрын
Thanks for watching @Atezz29! I felt I needed to speed up the video to prevent it from being twice as long. Here are the steps to create the "drops" as seen from the 23:40 point in the video: Use the Ellipse tool to draw a vertical ellipse. Apply Path > Object to Path to convert the object to a path and provide access the path nodes. Using the Nodes tool select the top node. Convert it into a corner node using the diamond node button in set of node formats at the top. Still using the Nodes tool, select both of the middle nodes with a bounding box. Hold the Ctrl key and drag one of them down, which moves both of them down. Go back to the Selection tool and resize as needed while holding down the Ctrl key to keep the proportions the same. Feel free to ask about anything else if you like. Take care!

Thanks for the video. Yes, shape Builder is great for this type of construction. A little tip to speed up the process. From min 5:55 approx. when you are going to use the Dropper tool very often, you can use the space key to toggle between selection tool and dropper toll without having to go to the tool each time. This tip is useful to switch between the last two tools used and speeds up the process a lot in many cases 🙂
