I been told on the lat pull downs the ROM is limmited:( and you have to lean back to get a good stretch. Also since the the throlleys don't stick out like a standalone lat pull down does then your pulling down at an angle instead of vertical😢

Love Matt Porter's work but I'm not 100% seeing the utility of this exact setup 🤔. That cable tower you're using already has a height adjustable pulley with dual pulleys to allow you to switch between a 2:1 or 1:1 ratio, so can't you just do a lat pulldown by using that spreader plate to combine the two pulleys (to use it in 1:1 ratio mode) and putting the pulley in the top position without the extra attachment that Matt made? You could also then attach a leg-holder attachment directly to the upright instead of using a seat belt since the cable isn't in the way like it is with the setup shown in the video. This is basically what I do on my all-in-one functional trainer + rack combo unit and it works great. I do have to put my bench in decline and sit on the lowered head because the highest pulley position on my rack isn't quite high enough and I'm a little tall, but it works great otherwise and if you're shorter or have a taller rack/cable setup you wouldn't even have to do that, or you just sit on the floor if you don't have a decline bench. Not trying to be a hater or anything, maybe I'm missing something obvious that makes a big difference 🤷♂.

Hi, if I'm bench pressing 160 lbs with a straight bar, will I need to reduce the weight when I switch to this Swiss bar? I'm seeing inconsistent information. Some people say you can go heavier because it's easier and others are saying you need to go lighter because the Swiss bar is harder to press than a straight bar. Now I'm not sure if I should buy it because my ego is going to take a massive dent if I have to reduce the weight.
@LukesGarageGymКүн бұрын
So a camber bar has a deeper stretch, but I’ve done similar weight to what my barbell bench is. I don’t think you’ll have issues.
@ryokan9120Күн бұрын
@@LukesGarageGym Thank you for replying! Do you think using the flat non-cambered version will enable me to bench press heavier weights than the cambered version?.

Luke, not sure if you are aware, but Major Fitness uses non-standard 70mm x 50mm uprights on almost all of their racks which means finding any attachments outside of what they sell will be very difficult. They call it 2" x 3" when it's really more like 2.75" x 2", so the size is off and the orientation is flipped compared to a standard 2" x 3" and thus they are not compatible at all. If they have everything you would ever need then they are a decent option and the customer service I've heard is pretty good, but IMO most people would be better off going with something else with more standard 2" x 2" (50mm x 50mm) uprights if you're wanting a budget rack so you have a lot more attachment compatibility and can use ecosystems like Titan's T-2 and Rep PR-1000 series. Mikolo is the best brand I've found that typically has similar products and prices to Major Fitness but uses standard sizing much more often. Mikolo also offers a lifetime warranty on their racks compared to just 1-year with Major Fitness. Just seems like a slightly better option most of the time although there are some pros and cons to each when comparing similar products 1 to 1.

Is the cable system more like the Ares 2.0 compared to Rogue's pulley system?
@LukesGarageGym7 күн бұрын
Seems like it. Just your standard 2:1 ratio set up
@wushah7 күн бұрын
@@LukesGarageGym with Ares, the cable actually runs from the bottom; whereas with Vesta, it circulates from the top. That has implications for devices like jammer arms. If you don’t want to mix the cable and the jammer arms, you either have to drop the jammers to the ground and keep them extended out or take them off. With Ares, you can push the jammers all the way up, keep them extended out, and use the cable up and down without interference. They should make that change.
