lol you can just have to see what memory u have and replace it with bigger stick but you need to see if you motherboard supports it too

Fixed one yesterday, it had gotten corroded past the rubber, which still left enough gap for moisture to get through.

If you have the cable management arms you can pull the server out without disconnecting it.

@@GreyTechLive why not a r630? it is more efficient the idrac8 is still supported and the market is flooded with them. i got mine for 600€ 2 years ago. i have the e5 2683v4 in it and rocking 768gb in it. i mean yeah it was not refurbished and had one broken psu and all drive caddys where missing except for one that had a working windows server 2020 with license on it. mine is a 8 bay variant like yours and my idrac8 is with enterprise license. i dont run windows so i dont care about but i run Ubuntu server on it and i use sata ssd drives in a raid 10 because i needed the throughput not capacity so i use 8 times 512gb ssds.

@@GreyTechLive yeah there are now between 12 and 7 years old depending on the revision but still a powerful machine for his age. I had 2 years ago though about building a modern PC but building a system with nearly the same compute power would cost me over 3000€ and still the r630 will beat it in parallel computing tasks. So yeah as I saw the r630 I bought one, even I bought one that was not in a good shape, still the missing parts are cheap and easy to get. I don't use sas drives because they are still expensive and the benefits are minor in my use case. I had never before an industrial server this was a new experience for me but in the end it is a normal computer that looks a bit different with some nice features like ipmi.

yes you can use it like that but need to point it in the right direction and you need to know how to login to it and connect it to it.

You can actually run Windows on a chromebook, but i would not reccomend it as windows uses more resources than chromebooks have, I'm currently typing this on a modded chromebook with fedora flashed to the system.
