Imagine this level of skill receiving KDB long passes. There would be great volleys like these many more. Watching Van Persie as kid didn’t realise how uniqely phenomenal player I was watching.

Why don't we see such finishers anymore? All we see is tapin and pace merchants now who rely on a system to create space for them. If there's no space then they are invisible. RVP would just pop out of nowhere and get a goal, didn't need multiple touches or time on the ball, it's like he had entire scenario planned in his mind before he struck the ball.

That goal vs everton is the most insane, unforgettable goal I've ever seen. The inch perfect assist from Rooney from way outside the midfield line and then the most perfect volley you'll ever see. Receiving the ball from behind, an almost impossible angle. Almost. And he smashes it with mathematical precision. Pythagoras himself would have been speechless. A work of art. They should preserve this in a museum somewhere and make it the 8th wonder of the world.

First touch strikes are difficult for strikers, and defenders to defend against and goalkeepers to catch them. Those strikers who had the technique for it; are always the best strikers and most succesfull ! The king of volleys is RVP, he made himself fly with the ball; even made his hands looks like wings !
