my fanfiction : if they made "Barnabas Clive biological Father", this is very dark but if Clive was born as a result of Annabelle being "R***" by Barnabas. that gives more valid reason for her hating Clive and why she betray Rosaria for the empire, because the new motive is she want revange on Barnabas, and the empire is her only chance to get back at Barnabas, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"... as for Clive imagine when he learn that Barnabas is he real father and how he is born, he will be so crushed,. and here "Clive-Jill sex scene : Jill save Clive and lift him from his despair".

Love this!! It was so cathartic listenting to you articulate your criticisms. I love this game but I also think it has a lot of flaws that, in a weird way, make it even more fun to discuss. The only thing that differed, for me, is that I disliked Clive and Joshua's dynamic, post-timeskip. Joshua, as a character, felt ill-defined to me, and it made all his interactions with Clive feel, like, weird and uncertain. There was this ever-present sense of unfamiliarity between them, which could have been interesting to explore given that they'd been separated for 13 years, but it just felt underdeveloped to me. The scene where Joshua punched Clive, in particular, had me chuckling because it felt so nonsensical! It's always interesting to hear what parts of this game worked for people and what parts didn't! Wish more people made FFXVI videos like this :')

"One good scene does not a good character make" is, more than just being a flat criticism, an excellent articulation of the frustration one can feel with the space between what something is and what it could have been. One good scene makes the character stick in your head regardless (and indeed perhaps because of) what's come before and the difference in quality. Story-doctoring is one of my favorite activities, and despite not playing the game itself I really enjoyed this look at it.

I have played 40k for 25 years. Not Once, have I played in an actual GW store. Not Once, have I been turned away from a game for having bare models. Painted models DO enhance the experience, but bare models are perfectly acceptable in every place I've ever played.

Man I still feal like I need an overpaid deskjob to be able to get into warhammer more than random bits of lore and of course the video games. Plus I expect I would have to convert what is essentially my modeling area from a specialization in lego sets to a specialization in warhammer. Plus get one of those travel carriers for warhammer armies because damaging or loosing something that cost that much money would be completley demoralizing.

War hammer isnt really a satire for most of the media. It takes its lore somewhat seriously, the choices characters make in the setting are made because they have to be.

I've never been into the tabletop but I've always loved the lore, been reading the books most of my life. Which is kinda funny as I ended up going to college in Nottingham but at the time I had no idea Games Workshop was based there and during my whole time in Nottingham I never even stepped a foot into their store. Bit of a shame on reflection! I walked past the store plenty of times I just never had any interest in the tabletop game.

I hate strategy games and I definitely HATE tabletop games, but this universe is a lot of fun to learn about and engage with in my own ways. I have zero interest in plastic models, and even less interest in the actual tabletop game, but god is it fun to learn the lore and play some of the more action oriented 40k games. Namely: Darktide, Space Marine, Battle Sister, and Boltgun. If anyone knows of other non-strategy games set in this universe that are worth playing please let me know.

Anyway, I've been into Warhammer for as long as I can remember, my dad introduced me to it at a young age by designing a simplified version of the game. Nowadays I mostly play Kill Team. Well, something close to Kill Team, my dad has made various changes to the rules. I play Adeptus Mechanicus, our most recent game was a race, and I won, because one of my guys was the only survivor, and managed to stumble off the edge of the board while under pursuit by Genestealers that wandered in after 2 of the 4 teams died out.

Now now, space travel is totally possible without The Emperor... you're just navigating like the Orks. IE not navigating. Or alternatively, you can go slower than light, which sucks.

A 1k pts list or 1.5k pts list is more than good enough on the tabletop for most factions, it gives you both a similar size to a 2k point game and similar scale. Even if you want to play 2k pts battles, start at 500, then 1000 and then 1500 so you can learn the all of the random rules and wacky mechanics, learning them is a pain in the ass but once you learn the game it is very fun and rewarding to play.
