When you called me up this morning Told me about the new love you found I said, "I'm happy for you I'm really happy for you" Found someone else I guess I won't be comin' 'round I guess it's over, baby It's really over, baby, whoa-oh And from what you said I know you've gotten over me It'll never be the way it used to be So if it's gotta be this way Don't worry, baby I can take the news, okay But if you see me walking by And the tears are in my eyes Look away, baby, look away If we meet on the streets someday And I don't know what to say Look away, baby, look away Don't look at me I don't want you to see me this way When we both agreed as lovers We were better off as friends That's how it had to be Yeah, that's how it had to be I tell you I'm fine But sometimes I just pretend Wish you were holding me Wish you were still holding me, oh-oh, oh I just never thought That I would be replaced so soon I wasn't prepared To hear those words from you I know I wanted to be free Yeah, baby, this is how we wanted it to be But if you see me walking by And the tears are in my eyes Look away, baby, look away And if we meet on the streets someday And I don't know what to say Look away, baby, look away Don't look at me I don't want you to see me this way If you see me walking by And the tears are in my eyes Look away, baby, look away If we meet on the streets someday And I don't know what to say Look away, baby, look away Don't look at me I don't want you to see me If you see me walking by And the tears are in my eyes Look away, baby, look away Don't look at me I don't want you to see me When you called me up this morning Told me about the new love you found I said, "I'm happy for you I'm really happy for you"

Bill saved this band. Music was changing as it does especially coming out of the 70’s ..He bridged tbe gap from the sad passing of Terry to the new era of MTV.. Amazing talent….

Here is a link to Dawayne’s band Private Parts (Full Album), Dancing the Marmara. This was their only album and was recorded LIVE! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rc6drdGe177Mqp8.htmlsi=EwWJxNiaUeoGKhuN

I had never seen this performance before but had heard an other performance with Dawayne Bailey on guitar. Dawayne was born in Manhattan, Kansas. He also played with Bob Seger some. Dawayne was more of a “hired gun” guitar slinger so he doesn’t get the accolades that guitarists in permanent positions seem to get. He also put out a solo album with he band that he put together called “Private Parts”. It’s kind of a rarity. I like the version at this link better. Oh, BTW, this was played at my wedding 39 years ago on April 26, 1985. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/esmedpaVlcfefmw.htmlsi=twLqMO3QFNznbHxL

Beautiful man! Beautiful Hair! Great singer!!!!! Bill Champlin. Enough said.

Dwayne Bailey is an outstanding guitarist, but notice that Bill Champlain was playing rhythm guitar on this song, proving it really did take two musician to replace the master, Terry Kath.
@josephosheavideos39924 ай бұрын
Dwayne Bailey seldom sang lead vocal while with Chicago, which is interesting since he is a much better singer than is Bill Champlain, who was playing rhythm guitar on this song, rather than his usual keyboard.
