Doesn’t look dangerous at all. The only thing I noticed, most of the bikers have a really bad cornering control. Too close to the center line of the road, wrong entering of the curve. All mostly on left turns. Extremely dangerous on small roads and turns with an invisible curve exit. The problem is not the pavement, the problem is on top of it.

JR and I will be riding alot together after the repave, Identical bikes except color of course. If I see you then we will stop and chat. Maxwrist won't be out much this season until his case is over but he did tell me of a road he found behind Fontana village that he has been riding, he wants us to meet up over there and ride with him some, I'll get video of it when it happens.

I see him occasionally but he's definitely not there all day or even daily for that matter. As much as I was there filming I got him on camera about 2 times and it took almost a month to see him the first time. People will argue that the sport bikes are the biggest problem but the reality is that most problems arise from people that have no clue how quickly you can get into serious trouble on this road. I've been driving it for 34 years and I still respect it lol. 34 years ago I was the local idiot tho lol.

Accidents happen occasionally? It's not nonsense that you are significantly more likely to have an accident. That's what the actual data demonstrates. There are even more signs posting that warning. Sure, most 'accidents' are single vehicle, where riders / drivers take themselves out by going too hot into a corner. But not all crashes are to the side of the road. Many cross over into the on-coming lane. Almost no one does the posted limit. Some are at multiples of that. Explain how in what universe are they not taking risks with their safety and that of others?
@leroyleadfoot5 ай бұрын
Not saying there are no risks. Simply stating that the vast majority of drivers are not doing crazy stuff. Sure, you'll have an occasional rider or driver going way over the limit, but that happens everywhere. I can sit there all day long and see maybe 5 or 6 people that are really pushing the limits. Then again when I drive on i285 around Atlanta the speed limit it 65 and at least once either direction in going I'll have about 3 vehicles doing 150 plus fly by me. There are risks everywhere. It's just not an all day every day occurrence on the dragon.

@rickcross78889 ай бұрын
This is a common problem with new drivers using a regular gps or Google and even some super truckers. But in my experience the cop was happy to possibly save a life and safely escort the driver down the hill and not give him a ticket. It happened to me once years ago and will never happen again 😊
@gregoryhodge94529 ай бұрын
Just another stupid Steering wheel holder.
@DeereX7489 ай бұрын
If these drivers would consult a map instead of following GPS this wouldn't happen. The road was restricted to combines of less than 50 feet more than ten years ago and there are huge yellow signs on both ends of TOD saying so. I hope this guy got a huge ticket in addition to his escort. Between the NC/GA state line and I-40, there are only four east-west US routes (US64, US74, US129[TOD], and US441) and one state route(Cherohala Parkway) through the mountains and all of them are tight, crooked and hard to navigate in a large truck. US441 is usually full of tourist traffic. Trucks should be restricted to I-40.
@rickcross78889 ай бұрын
Doubtful he got a ticket.... The police have safely escorted many folks of this road over the years... Tennessee and the Carolina's are more about helping truckers. Now in Pennsylvania the driver would definitely be getting a huge fine....
