This is great, helpful information. Question: what do you do if you do not have the opportunity to warm up before a concert? During a house concert for friends last summer, my opening piece did not go as well because there were several hours between my arrival and the performance. I’ve also had the experience of being at the end of a long line of other performers. Other than running your hands under warm water before you play, any suggestions?

Wow, this is great! I've been practicing this piece for a few months, but it's difficult for me. I can play Chopin's Fantaisie-Impromptu quite well, but I struggle with melodic slow pieces. What kind of practice should I do besides this piece? I am practicing Hanon, but there isn't much chord practice in Hanon. Do you have any recommendations for practicing slow pieces with beautiful chords? Thanks in advance!

Hey josh is there a way i learn all piano techniques left and right hand and apply to my composition, instead of learning the classical repertoire. I saw your pro practice course . Does it fullfil my need. I am a beginner..i want to apply these techniques to my melody.

These videos and your lessons of which I have purchased two so far, are like a beacon of light. When I was a kid, no internet, in the sticks, didn’t have resources. Let alone of this quality. Just had to say this is like gold dust. So generous to share. What a brilliant pianist/human being.

You will be able to know if the acoustic piano IS NOT IN TUNED. That's my advantage on having a Clavinova Yamaha piano. It's a good for training ears on perfect pitches, and when you play on a Acoustic grand or upright piano just "THINK" you're playing on a Clavinova, my two cents.

Hi Josh, I really like your videos, you give great tips. I follow you from Colombia. I have a question about pianists and physical exercises. Do you have any exercise routines? Do you go to the gym? What do you think about pianists doing pull-ups and weight exercises at the gym? Do you have any recommendations on this topic? Thank you very much.

After playing piano for a few years I stopped playing Hannon. But recently I picked it up again and play for 20 min each day on my left hand only. I notice that my left had was lagging behind my right and this helps to fix this, especially when playing pieces at a fast tempo.

I can play all kinds of tremelos quite easily. It's only when I have to play them in rhythm like in the Pathetique or Waldstein that I tense up. It's been a lifelong struggle that I have yet to solve.

I remember as a kid, the scalding hot water felt so amazing on ny eczema riddled back; almost always forgetting the repercussions i would feek even a few minutes later. Lathering my skin with lotion, making every fabric stick to my skin. Eczema has always felt like a punishment that i never asked for
