I think Australia's Lyrebird - and, possibly, the Pied butcherbird - equal if not exceed ravens' ability to mimic and reproduce other species' and environmental sounds.

One is the majestic, bearded, strong-built, sophisticated, diplomatic, eloquent version of the other. Ravens represents the nobility, crows are the commoners.

There is a Raven couple that comes right up to my back door when they want something to eat. When I go to the door to give them food, they back off and keep their distance, at least until I put the food down, then they are a little more courageous. The male is often pushy and will even steal food from the female, who is more timid. So I usually put the food in two places, one for the male who is always quick to grab it, and one for the female, who waits a bit to see if the male is going to rob her, then she moves in and eats. Always the same couple. But if juveniles come in to join the party, the male often chases them away, however, there are two juveniles that sometimes come in with the couple. They don't try to take the food, but make a racket until the male takes some of the food and shoves it down their throats. Amusing interactions 😃

Most of the Ravens I see do soar, they never flap, so I guess I could consider confirming they’re ravens? Edit: I hear them flying too, at least some of the time. Edit 2: I googled it, in my area it’s normally always Ravens, I mean I already knew this but I wanted to confirm!

Near my house lives a couple of ravens, and crows HATE its! They attack ravens everythere! This looks like a pack of chimps, beating a lone gorilla. Ravens are noble birds. Crows - pests

I personally think studying animals that are in captivity is ufair for studying thier true behavior, especially when it comes to using drugs on them. They are not living in thier natural evironment, nor are they in a natural state of mind. I love these videos. This is good and natural.

Thank you for sharing this. I don't think I could be so dedicated as you have been. I know more now because of you. I found and watched your video because I was curious about 2 ravens who were spending a little time in a Douglas fir beside my suburban house. Based on your information and that it is near the end of June, I figure these two birds are likely a pair of subadults or young adults who were not nesting yet. Or a displaced pair. They "talked" a little bit and hour after sundown one night and two days later I heard them again in the morning. Very loud. They were also being pestered by crows. It's been good to see Ravens more frequently over the past 20 years. Seeing them in the 60s and 70s was very rare indeed. -Western Washington

great video ... Crows cant speak Raven because Ravens have a much larger vocabulary?
@123TauruZ321Ай бұрын
So you sell the video halfway as if a camera is tied to a raven and as if the video is filmed from the raven as it is flying, but it's really a drone video. Disliked.

Can I assume that only the young ravens have pink inside their mouths? If so, I now know why I was having such difficulty identifying two birds that are at my feeder this morning. The feeder is about three feet from my bathroom window. I was able to watch them for quite some time. At first, I identified them as ravens...they were the largest birds I had ever seen from that close up, other than a couple of turkey vultures. From the closed position, I thought the tail feathers were all the same length. One was eating, while the other stood off to one side, protesting "cow...cow...cow..." over and over again. I couldn't tell if the hackles were rough or smooth. They appeared to be about 12", maybe a little longer from the crown of the head to the end of the tail feathers. The one distinctive characteristic is that I got a good look at the inside of the smaller one's mouth as it protested, and it was definitely pink, with a slight pink edge to the side of the bill. Can you confirm for me that those were two young ravens? Or am I looking at some kind of crow?

the western european crow is lower in pitch and sometimes can mimmick a raven when i walk by and do this roop roop sound or klicking i have noticed they will mimmik this after a few years but still not close to a raven crows are somewhat uncommon here in the netherlands but ravens ? it;s allmost as if they never exist in my area But jackdaws are and for sure i've been divebombed once but not been picked on. I'm sure crows will

When i lived in Georgia i remember a family of crows lived in an acorn tree in my neighbors yard she was a crazy cat lady and the crows use to mess with the cats. It was like they would play the worlds dangerous game of chicken pecking at the cats tail or piling up acorns on top of the houses till the slide off

This made me cry happy tears. I love feeding wild ravens & I love the Lord with everything in me. The Lord is so Awesome. I told my husband I wish I could hv a raven and a week later my husband went shooting w a friend. The friend shot at it and missed. My husband stopped him from shooting again and said something is wrong with it. Sure enough he is a baby. I’m looking for videos to learn how to care for him while he can’t fly. I also wanted to play raven noises for him to hear. I hv been in prayer about what to do with Valenteen. I found your video right away today! God is so great! Loving your movie!! Thank you & may God bless you!!

Nice documentary We had a murder of crows at our locomotive shop and feed them for quite a few years.I have retired and now have a pair nesting in a tall pine in the back yard and a few more across the street. I give them peanuts grapes watermelon potato chips pizza.They always seem to fly over so their shadow will be broadcast on the lawn where I can always see it.
