Thar pretty cool. My hypothesis is that the fungi provides specific nutrients to the plants. So when one plant requires different nutrients ratio it could be why it did not work.

Could a lack of mycorrhizae fungi possibly explain why some plants in planter boxes and large pots do poorly?

Less consumerism, this is an expensive useless bucket. Farmer here. EVERYBODY needs to take care of what you have first! The Amazon has been destroy to grow crops that aren't Native! LEARN from the Indians, how they make it in the jungle! The jungle provides everything for them but other people IMPOSE their stupid ways of life in them and that is when everything goes to s h i . The same in the deserts people use the resources around, dah!

Its not much of a test if you also change other aspects eg half the nutrients... shame
@diamondprincss02
@diamondprincss02 Жыл бұрын
It is because the test was whether you can get yields using much less water. Both treated and control had same conditions, only difference being one has mycorrhiza whereas other doesn't. The test shows that you can use much less water and fertilizer by amending the soil with myco.

I cannot help thinking of a lecture on vetch cover crop. The proposition is these achieve the same. So, it makes me ponder, if how nature cools topsoil with microvegetation has been proven smart with this more technological approach.

water does not leave the planet in fact water comes to earth from space all the time. the oceans have not gone down or up

What an incredibly simplistic view. The oceans have “gone down and up” thousands of times due to glaciation. And when seawater rises like it is and will continue to, it travels something like ten times further horizontally than vertically, permanently ruining coastal farmland due to salinisation.

Yes, plants perspire to maintain an optimal state of growth but the key factor to limiting the perspiration is to provide them with the right conditions from the get go and the key to using less water is to capture any additional moisture that the plant may perspire to replenish the system. Think of it as a "closed loop" system. By implementing these practices one may expect to capture 100% of the water required to grow a plant. Greenhouses should therefore be designed to be entirely sealed off (including below the root zone), oxygen for the roots and CO2 for the leaves should be generated within this structure and the air should be passed through a condenser in order to capture humidity and transform it back into water while maintaining optimal growing conditions. Additionally, the walls of greenhouses should be constructed in such a way so that any condensation that forms would bead together and then drained into a reservoir. Hire me. 🤣

Ever seen that white "web" like stuff growing on leaves / wood chips that were trapped under plastic bags or buckets in your garden? Collect it and toss into your compost pile, it's amazing stuff! Very difficult to propagate once disturbed but it can be done if you have some knowledge in mycology.

So it doesn't beat the production of hydroponics, and it only produces 25% of the hydroponic potential. But does it beat the costs of hydroponics? how good will this strategy perform if fertilizers are used? will it compare to the hydroponics production? what percentage of the hydroponic production will it reach? there are too many questions open, I will try to research on the web, but since I have not since this channel updated I will assume it is not as good as it looks.
