Make sure you listen for any pinging. When the engine is running. That is the sound of detonation. Detonation has even been known to break cranks in half. The reason it's so destructive is because it causes the fuel to explode. While the piston is still on, it's up travel. So that's like 2 trucks hitting head on.You know what I mean.

Hey bro I would check the squish on that piston. Because it looks like your old piston was the victim of some hardcore detonation. The way the rings were pinched into the ring lands that wasn't from carbon or anything, that was from the piston being smashed and that's caused by detonation from having too high a compression ratio and not good enough fuel.. Either make sure you run much higher octane fuel orl run a lower compression dome

Looking at this because the Plummer tightened my ac box too tight and managed to strip it. Along with damaging the outside. Not sure why they put it back on without a filter.

I just picked up a 95 kx250 , needs crank seal replaced so I’m about to start ordering parts to go ahead and do a full rebuild , do you know what year engine parts will interchange? When searching google I find a ton of 99 and up 2 stroke parts , will those years interchange ? From pictures they look the same 🤷🏻‍♂️

The pro circuit case covers cool the boyson case cover had some with a works look not polished and a cool fab look been a while I think you could get them in black or a rustic metal look. Henson made the black cover as well I believe the pro circuit works pipe showed the welds not polished good look

That's awesome that he/they could get it dialed in so well just by revving it in neutral. I've always done that to get a baseline, but I thought you had to ride it to put a load on the engine to get a more precise "butt dyno" reading. Thanks for sharing, Greg.

Sweet build but kinda sucks watching a video with so many sponsors. Just makes it hard to relate because the average person can’t build this without the support. Sweet build though nonetheless. Just be cool to see a budget build just as good.

Thanks dude, you're right! This is no where near your average build, or intended to be. Average and budget are both relative terms to describe bike builds. The "sponsored" portions of the video you see, actually make up the smallest piece of the money pie. Anybody doing a bike restoration would have to purchase those standard rebuild parts, depending on the starting condition of the bike. This is aside from the micro polished transmission, PC porting, and hubs, I'll give you that, I'd consider those splurge items to the average person. 80% of the costs derive from the rare, unobtainable PC parts, factory parts and suspension, carbon, etc that are incredibly hard to find. Once you find, then it's time to decide whether you want pony up the cash for them. It's a whole different ball game, which I made the conscience financial decision to do so. To each their own. Thanks for watching, Jeremy!

If you think about it the remote reservoir is better it keeps the fluid away, keeping it cooler and less prone to brake fade
