How often do they drag the track to prevent that? Looks fun...

Apologies, I had to leave the race before the main events took place due some scheduled work for my day job. I didn't get back until later when things were already wrapping up. Didn't leave the stream up because I wasn't going to be around to monitor and fix if needed.

How did you cut it? Are you harvesting any this year?
@d0glesby3 жыл бұрын
We cut it with a 9' sickle bar mower, then raked into rows. Not growing any this year.

Dan Oglesby I imagine. I’ve baled corn in the 4x4x8 big square bale before. But it looks harder than that. Wonder how better it is when you cut it earlier in the maturity?
@d0glesby4 жыл бұрын
@@jessaryenterprises Yeah, this stuff was very tough and just like baling hemp rope at times. It liked to wrap up on everything it could.
@stonecanuck4 жыл бұрын
You gotta slow down the pickup teeth. Change the drive sprockets to gear it down close to your ground speed and it'll help a lot with wrapping in the pickup. Keep up the good work.
@d0glesby4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply! We actually had an issue with the guide bearings for one set of tines at the time of this video. Once that was repaired, the hemp didn't wrap up nearly as bad.
@stonecanuck4 жыл бұрын
@@d0glesby yes it all needs to be in tip top shape for sure. He have had trouble with shear knife in main chamber popping off. Hemp just too tough. So have gone to rounds mostly for that and rounds are easier to open back up.
@d0glesby4 жыл бұрын
@@stonecanuck We tried a round baler as well, and it wrapped that thing up like you wouldn't believe. Once we had the square baler fixed, it finished the rest of the baling without too many incidents. The round baler was a nightmare. Another issue was the round bales are pretty light compared to the square bales.

Overhead valves is why Buick and GM exist to this day. At least 1000 car companies from 1908 have come and gone, but GM still lives on, because of the "valve in head" Buick. That's really the only reason. Today, all cars have the valves in the head. Buick was the first.

Brian, I apologize for not seeing your reply originally. I pulled up a new feature (to me anyways) that let me see all unanswered comments to my videos, and just saw this! If you're still looking, I can possibly get that info from the owner of the car in the video.

Yeah, I'm never going to freehand video from a moving vehicle again. That was such a pain to try and edit and correct. KZfaq's video stabilization did a great job of smoothing stuff out, but lost some of the clarity and focus of the shots. I really need to just buy a monopod and walk around while everyone is doing obstacles. MUCH better video that way!

Oh, and it took three days to get that dash in for the last time. With help from several friends, we had it in and out of the buggy all weekend while fitting shifters and center console. It's quite the puzzle.
