Is there a burning sensation from the pain of the pf??
@g8performance
@g8performance 4 ай бұрын
It can be. Different people experience different sensations. The burning could be from compressed nerve endings and / or compression of the blood supply and not necessarily plantar fasciitis. However, plantar fasciitis is never too far away when the foot is not working optimally.

What if my big toe gets a tingly and numb feeling like I'm compression the nerve? Will this help me? Thank you

Hi, yes these will help. We need to get your feet stronger so that the muscles lift the bones away from the blood supply. We can help you set up and you should get initial benefits in the first 6 weeks. Then wear them in as many shoes as you can to keep getting benefits. I suggest Metdomes as well for toe numbness.

Is there any additional requirements for cycling shoes?
@g8performance
@g8performance 9 ай бұрын
Cycle shoes are a bit more exact when fitting as you are strapping your non symmetrical self onto a symmetrical machine. You also can't change the angle of attack markedly as you can when you aren't strapped into something. When on the bike you should be able to feel your foot roll over the arch piece to expel the force through the ball of your foot. If the arch piece is too high and the foot can't do this, the force will be expelled through other parts of the foot which is not ideal - and can cause discomfort. Start low and as far forward as is comfortable. To increase the speed of progressions, wear your 2620's in your everyday shoes as well. The more you wear them the stronger your feet will become. Any issues get in touch. We love helping people get the most out of their feet.

How do you know when it’s time to move it forward?
@g8performance
@g8performance 9 ай бұрын
Hi Alex, once you wear them they become very intuitive. Let comfort be your guide. Everyone's feet are different and will respond at different rates. In my case (with flat, inflexible, badly damaged feet) I started with the level 1 about mid way. Once I felt that I couldn't feel the contact of the arch piece I moved it forward. Over time, I progressed all the way forward then went higher - and then progressed forward with the level 2. This took me around 18 months. We're dealing with muscles, ligaments and nerve endings and your body will quickly tell you what your feet need. I know that may sound a bit waffly but everyone experiences the moment when they start to understand the messages from the feet. We are always happy to help you out so get in touch with us if you need more assistance. :)

Hi Vr, do you mean the vertical distance between the bottom bracket and the top of the head tube on a bike?
@sAmiZZle82
@sAmiZZle82 Ай бұрын
No, stack height is the distance of the cleat and sole of the shoes. The arch support, no matter how high, fits into the empty space beneath your foot's arch so it's not elevating your foot up higher than it should be naturally. It's just supporting it.

Hi, I have issues with post tibial tendon in my ankles due to over pronation of my feet. I have orthotic insoles but still feel like the ankle over pronates when applying higher pwr. Could heel wedges help? Thanks.
@g8performance
@g8performance Жыл бұрын
Hi Simon, We don't use heel wedges to address pronation issues. if your orthotics artificially support your foot and your ankle is rolling inwards, that is a sign that the foot is not expelling enough force through the ball i.e 1st and 2nd metatarsal heads. In a number of cases we see that are similar, the knee tends to drop toward the top tube as well. The 2620's insoles when set up with a forward-positioned arch piece, assist the foot to perform biomechanically correctly. This not only helps expel more force through the ball of the foot but, over time, helps to strengthen the foot which in turn strengthens the foot, increases blood flow, and reduces excessive pronation. We are more than happy to help you with this process.

Hello, i have 1degree yellow wedge from bikefit under my cleat, it is ok to put the heel wedge?
@g8performance
@g8performance Жыл бұрын
Hi, The cleat wedge tilts the entire shoe. The heel wedge helps the foot biomechancally inside the shoe. They have different purposes. If the foot moves inside the shoe biomechanically correctly does titlting the entire shoe help?

Can I ask if the same process applies to cycling shoes, where the foot acts differently than when walking or running? Thanks
@davidlee9965
@davidlee9965 Жыл бұрын
We want the same action happening in a cycle shoe as we do walking, running, skating etc. The foot is designed to contract longitudinally, then expand londitudinally before splaying out and rolling slightly inwards to expel the force through the ball of the foot. The set up in the cycle shoe is a little more exact as the angle of attack is less. i.e. you aren't able to lean forward at the ankles as you can when running. If the foot is fixed in a cycle shoe over time, you will create muscle atrophy and will not be receiving any benefits that you get when the foot is active. Please let me know if I can help you further. :)

Thanks David, that’s very helpful. I’ve been using G8s on and off for years, but have been guided within the bike fitting world to have the arch support as far back and medially positioned as possible. Despite this, and using the Level 5 support with additional handlebar tape between the arch piece and the insole, I still have significant eversion at the rearfoot, and this video made me conifer whether I may get better results with the arch supports much further forward.
@davidlee9965

@@Lemond75 start with the low arch first. Inside the shoe you should feel that you can roll over the arch piece when expelling force. Wear them in your everyday shoes as well. Have you tried the G8 custom heat-moldable insoles? I have the 2620s, but I found they take up a lot of volume inside my S Phyre shoes.
@g8performance
@g8performance 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Todd, Both insoles require room in the shoe to allow the foot to move biomechanically correctly. The 2620's are only 2.5mm thick when measured 4cm in from the toe. The Ignites have a tad less volume but it's the movement in the shoe that is important.

@@onilovni1234 mild pronation is essential in order to expel force through the ball of the foot. We focus on strengthening the foot muscles to assist with proper biomechanics inside the shoe. The foot muscles become the suport that the bone structure needs. Just like any musculature structure, improvements take time. If you are looking for an 'artificial support' then the 2620's are not what you are looking for.

It would be great if you could leave a note on how cyclists with usual "fore foot Varus" should fit them. If got this right, the correction you do on the heel is the opposite of what people normally fo with forefoot or cleat wedges. The correction done on the heel is the typical correction for walking supinators - you need to put the higher side of the heel wedge to the outside of the shoe if you're having too much pressure on the outer side of the shoe along with a fore foot Varus. Correct?
