As a former music director I’ve used “Edelweiss” from the “Sound of Music” as a swing tempo “song” in my head. Sing it slow, sing it fast until you find your own speed. 👊🏻

Notice too that he does not change his spine angle or stand up like almost all amateurs do. Keeping the spine angle lets your body rotate through the swing. At that his swing is superb and I am not going to forget this lesson.

I have been trying to swing through the ball to my finish as opposed to trying to hit the ball, and it seems to help with the release and the ball goes straight most of the time. Maybe you can do a video on that.

The ball speed I get from my driver using this technique increases by around 10mph in comparison to my usual swing, however, my dispersion isn't as tight and I often push shots to the right.

For that depth, the tip that clicked for me was to feel focus on my scapula pulling back and feeling the stretch across my chest. Easy to fill with the twomhand drill youmdemonstrated or just reversing your hands on the grip. Good tips, now to commit to muscle memory

Well here we are on the eve of the 2024 PGA Championship. 7458 yards with a slope 148 and course rating 76.4. I am really surprised that none of the LPGA players have been given an exemption to play. I mean they have the best swings in the game and they are strong, independent women. I bet they could at least shoot a 110. LMFAO!!!!!

How stupid are people ! That’s not the point of the video. Go back and watch the start again and have a look the statistics i showed. Pay attention this time.
@ag3585 күн бұрын
Craig is correct,this is the way to release. I think the handle dragging through has ruined ppl from releasing properly. Once you learn this release now you have to know yardage for all your clubs. Then you can score.

Love this. Strangely, my coach is trying to stop me from supernating my wrists as he thinks I’ll start hooking the ball. I couldn’t quite put it into words why you can still hit it straight. But told him to check out your videos.

Every time I try this release method I pull the ball, and I mean PULL. Distance is absolutely brilliant, ball flight is dead straight and higher than I'm really comfortable with, but it's always a hard pull left (I'm a righty).
@CraigHansonGolf6 күн бұрын
Yeah there’s something else that your not getting right. I’m not sure what it is. If i could analyse your swing we would fix it immediately. And play better and really enjoy it. But then you would have to pay for an online lesson with me which most people don’t do. Si i guess your confusion and search will continue….

I started playing just this year and my progress has been so much that I had a club pro tell me he has never seen someone improve so quickly as I have. He’s 62 and been playing for 50 years and teaching as well. He shares one side of a plaque at wildcat run with Arnold Palmer for his dedication. I also have 5 kids and Im in my late 30s so I don’t play much but instead practice about an hour a day. I owe my progress largely in part to Craigs approach to the game. As a student of the game I got tired of watching people do one thing and say they’re doing another. This channel is the most consistent and factual channel on the internet. Don’t waste your time with other instructions. Instead spend a couple weeks or a month working on each video he shares and you will make an efficient swing and excellent ball contact. Pay attention, this is the most underrated channel on youtube.

Great video! Whilst aiming the clubface at the target, should the swing thought be baby-fade or baby-draw? Still need to actively release the club, but not too much? I feel like I have to 'block' the shot, but not too much....

With no due respect, teachers like you and O'Grady are what screws up students around the world!!! "He retried with BACK ISSUES" duh !!!!!! Why would anybody take lessons from a clown who can't even swing his own swing he teaches because he broke his own back from doing his own swing!!!!!????? WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!! Don't listen to these clowns!!!!! There's a reason why people always wanted to copy and be Sam Snead - because the dude NEVER got injured, and was able to keep swinging the way he swung until he was 80 years old!!!!!! Get the hell outta here with this BS - look at O'Grady's left leg, ZERO MOBILITY!!!! You go head and RESTRAIN that must force and torque with that lead leg, put all the load on it and then expect the torso to take all the twist????? What the heck do you think will happen????? You break your knee, your hip, and your back!!!!! By break, I mean, hurt it enough that you have to QUIT SWINGING this way!!!! DUH!!!!!

Visualize being a side armed pitcher in baseball. Holding your wrist back then snapping it sideways through the release! Another is hammering a nail into the wall from the side laterally.

@@CraigHansonGolf thank you for helping. The release has had me confused btwn coaches, YT vids, Tiger’s release drill & many others. I will say this move & thought can likely help cause the chicken wing, cutting across moves, and other issues for most avg handicappers if not extending hands & arms forward & through to the target. Instead they focus too much on the hand action shorting their extension wrapping around their bodies on the “follow through” which is not proper follow through in reality. Their clubheads then tend to cut across the hitting zone in a very short path, versus it extending through the hitting zone for a foot or more. Any vids and thoughts to help this?
