@@louisfishingodysseyNice. I respect "catch and release" fishing, unfortanalelly in Germany it's illegal. Which local fish species are the best in terms of cooking?
@louisfishingodyssey
@louisfishingodyssey 5 ай бұрын
@alexey121288 yeah catch and release is very common in Australia with fishing on the coasts population around the whole of Australia. The inshore table fish that are most popular are, flathead , whiting , jewfish that sort of stuff. Offshore we generally target , snapper , Jewfish, kingfish , Mackerel, wahoo , cobia...all that sort of stuff. We a very spoilt for selection in Aus 😁👍

I've recently started doing land-based trev fishing in the sunny coast canal, and your videos are helping a LOT! Are there any other popper alternative recommendations to Steez? It seems like it's kind of hard to get from a retail store.
@sametaifu
@sametaifu 6 ай бұрын
@@louisfishingodyssey Thank you! I bought a lucky craft popper. Also, I've got a question about the effect of the tide in non-tidal lake if you do not mind. So far, it seems like I've had a success catching a Trev on a top water when high tide is aligned with a sun rise. I have not really caught anything on low tide early morning in a non-tidal lake. Would that be your experience with non-tidal lake as well? I've been grinding every morning 💪 Maybe I would have to be aiming different location in low tide...

@louisfishingodyssey
@louisfishingodyssey 6 ай бұрын
Thanks DK , I use the Atomic Trick Bitz assist hooks. I prefer them on the trailing hook , I find the hookup rate is better , especially when the fish aren't totally committing to the bite , they offer a bit of flash and the rubber present well when popping the lure. I like em 😉🤙

Thanks mate 👍 We have had a fair bit of rain over the last 6 weeks which has seemed to flushed alot of the larger fish out . I've found that the Nerang and Coomera rivers fish well that time of year , those systems seem to hold better quality , fishing early morning has also worked well for me. If the water quality improves then the topwater should fire 😉👍

Good stuff mate! How are you finding it since all the big rains at the start of the year? Getting back to normal now?
@louisfishingodyssey
@louisfishingodyssey 6 ай бұрын
Cheers mate , yeah that rain had a big impact on the fishing. Leading up to Boxing day it was epic with some solid fish getting about, after those continued downpours tho its really been difficult. The water clarity was poor and alot of the bigger fish seemed to have moved out of the system. It occasionally improved but then we would get another downpours and it was back to square one 😫 Seem to be lots of smaller Bigeye and the odd small GT getting about ATM , but the schools are moving so fast it's very hard to get a read on their feeding patters. It's completely different to the last 2 years that's for sure , there was almost a predictability about the movement back then. It's really a matter of covering a heap of water ATM and being in the right place at the right time. Definitely fish about , just a bit of a grind 😉
