I own the GX680 III, its freaking awesome ... maybe you shouldn't have cheaped out on the S version ;) , why are movements not valid on Medium format cameras ? btw if you cleaned the contacts on the connections you may have less issues with lenses

I have one. The last model with movements. It’s a camera that takes a lot work but can produce excellent images.

I have no idea why you bought it. I love your potty mouth review. Next time you buy a camera maybe do some research, eh? Using this for landscape and street photography? Reallly? Why stop there? Take it underwater. That makes about as much sense. The biggest drawback is the battery and the film back camera. Other than that it is a great studio camera. The camera was made as a studio camera ergo tilts, swings, etc. for product shots and portraits. Get it? That is why you use studio cameras. It is a fully electronic camera with tilts, etc. I have no idea why you bought the SP model without them. No view camera I know of is electronic. At least none of mine. And the lenses go up to F45 on some lenses. You can get new bellows for under $100. Viewfinders are cheap and easy to find as well as a million other parts. Lenses for the same.

It's a damn shame you're such a good photographer and haven't kept up with the channel, because the whole being kind of a whinny bitch thing cut with trying Way to hard to be edgy kills it. You should pick it back up...

I came here for the abuse and was not disappointed - here is mine: It may very well be the worst. - but I spent twelve years behind one as a Pro and probably made over 100k with just that one (I had two) so stick that up your camera arsenal - actually it is the biggest and best SLR ever made - the 100-200 zoom is the bomb - just don't get the S as shown here - it sucks bad

I'm pretty sure it's irony here and you in fact love the camera (except for the tilt and shift S version lacks). Currently looking to buy one from Japan, that's how I run into your video. I hope you didn't sell it, image quality it's unbeatable, they say

It's mainly for stills, portraits and products however i think for your purpose a DSLR or mirrorles would suit better. I've seen these setups mostly in studios and very cumbersome to lug around for outdoor shoots. Medium format are different breeds of camera. I grew up processing films on dark rooms and shoots in studio and this camera is one of the best portraits camera. Looks like you're not used to the intricacies of an classic equipment, go for a modern full frame camera, the weight will be next to nothing. Camera has come a long way since its inception , do the research before you purchase a camera for 400 dollars thats a reasonable price considering a full frame or medium format goes for 6k. The camera comes in all sorts to suit different needs and requirements. This will not be for everyone

This camera is Made For Studio Use.On A TRIPOD.Not handheld outdoors.Add to that you need knowledge in manipulating THE LIGHT which is something you do not seem to have.If you want to have an opinion and review about photographic equipment, at first you should stop talking ironically and with bad words. Then your opinion will be more respected and appreciated.

I left a particularly rude comment after watching just over a minute of this yesterday, for which I apologise profusely. I’m not the biggest fan of this camera, but it does have some redeeming features; or at least they usually do - but you bought a model which doesn’t have front movements???? Ok, yup, I now tend to agree; u did by the “worst” medium format camera possible for non-studio use… It’s a pity you didn’t get the “normal”; it’s a great platform to play around with technical functions. It’s about the cheapest possible “modern” technical camera, and it’s got a cheap diet of 120 rather than 4x5, and the glass available for it is right up there. Apart from the weight, the thing that kills it for me is it’s total reliance on electronics. I’m like a damn walking super capacitor or EMP gun that fries any device more than 2yrs out of warranty, or brand new kit if I’m on holiday or touring… Again, apologies for lashing in prior comment - having actually watched the whole vid, it’s one of the more informative and drily amusing reviews I’ve seen for some time. ☮️

"Everything is automated" Like how there is no silly metering system inside the camera? Like how exposure must be dialed in manually? Like how focus is manual? I'm not sure what is automated besides winding? I think you must mean everything is electronic as opposed to gears and springs. My Hasselblad 500 lenses are powered via gears and I love it but the shutter speed is sometimes off and I need to have them tuned which sux.

A Waste of KZfaq. Wow. I am impressed at the lack of knowledge and experience being passed along as knowledge and experience. For those that actually understand the capabilities of tilt, shift, swing movements -- this camera is actually very capable and highly portable and reliable. I have a Toyo/Omega View 45 which I adore, but I greatly prefer working with my GX680III Pro (Non-S). Electronic Shutter, Excellent Reliable Focusing Screen (unlike my 4x5 which sometimes gets misaligned when switching between preview and film). The GX680III Pro (Non-S) is at home in the studio for portraits and product photography (thanks to tilt/shift/swing) or outside for landscape. Sure it's heavy but compare it to any 4x5. Also consider the cost of film these days. 120 film with a good film digitizer produces plenty of data and is a lot cheaper than 4x5 sheets. I would also like to mention that you can get a lens board for the GX680 to adapt COPAL view camera lenses. I mean... what bad can be said about this camera other than it's weight?

I saw a picture of this camera somewhere online and it looked so damn sophisiticated I decided to learn more about it. I never knew Fuji made a medium format camera althoughIi don't know much about Fuji cameras period. I'm sorry you feel so bad about this camera, but I can't blame you. I felt the same about my POS Canon EOS-3 which I have recently sold. looks like to much Engineering went into this too many bells and whistles. This is a good case against manufacturers trying to lull consumers to sleep by burrying them with the kitchen sink, instead of focusing on the essentials. Another KZfaq video claims that this is the best MF ever built, but I haven't had the chance to view it yet. By the sound of the shutter button on the Fuji GX680 I need not look any further YIKES !

I think you should have gone with the RB or the RZ. Both the RB/RZ and the GX680 are beast; actually the GX680 is a mega beast compared to the Mamiya. I have the mark iii. I got it for the negative and the front movement. Compared to the Hasselblad it is a very limited use camera. I understand being tired of 6x6. Did you think of finding a 645 back?
