I loved this video! I love how you drifted down the mountain lmao I’m glad you posted this video it was very entertaining. I have a 23 WRX and I’m from Tucson AZ but I just moved to Washington state and I act the same way around snow ❄️.

I made the mistake one year of waiting too long to put my winters on and was driving home from work and it started snowing, I went to take a mellow right turn at 10mph and the car just kept going straight, at the last second the back end whipped around and i hit the guardrail. That's how slick some of these summer tyres are. Like it is actually EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO DO THIS!

Hey man love the car, I got mine a couple months ago. One thing I would be careful with is burning the fender liner with the mufflers off. Learned that the hard way 🥲.

Ohhh man If only i would've seen this earlier haha. Yeah some of the liner came off but i ended up getting a cheap axle back recently.

I got Hankook I Cept Evo3 tires on my VB WRX, and I can already tell they handle way better than the summer tires in cold conditions, I was rocking the the stock tires until about a week ago, and there were some mornings that got below freezing where I live, but it took a while for me to get my winters on though because the tire shop was all booked up, now I’m all set for winter with my WRX, and I can’t wait to drive it in the snow.

Ohh thats awesome man! Heck yeah i ditched the summers quite awhile ago, Rocking some all-seasons right now which should do a bit better but i live in the desert so its not really needed.

Yeah man, you gotta slow way down and be careful. I drove semi trucks over the road in worse conditions, and black ice is terrifying butt clencher... I'm here in Tucson too, and I had an old friend in a old 5 speed civic went up with some friends, then on the way back down (during summer time) his brakes locked up, and he blacked out and spun the car came mere second from going off the cliff, but just barley hit the gaurd rail and rebounded into the side of the mountain. Totalled his car (which had seen better days already anyways) and he never went back up. This could've ended extremely bad like that, especially considering the blizzardy conditions on the mountain and low visibility. Lesson well learned, the shots you got, and the scenery really is wonderful, but it's terrifying man. Glad you're safe!

Yeah, the speed he was going at times was just asking for trouble, especially without a good set of winter tires or a Really Proven All season.

Well if I see this obnoxiously loud subie around Tucson, i know who it is now.. xD Not the best looking generation of WRX, but still a great, fun car! I drive a civic Si also a great car for those canyon runs, especially up Mt Lemon, picture rocks twisty roads. That's Gates Pass? I haven't been there in a very long time. I should go for a drive back out there sometime.

That's too bad dude. Hopefully your car still looks good after the body shop. Snow tires would have ate that snowy road for breakfast. I wouldn't be caught dead driving my WRX in a half inch of snow or even low temps with the stock summer tires. That was a cool video though.

This was a bad idea to try in the first place. Seemed like a lack of planning. Awd does not mean Your car is Good in The Snow. A Good set of Winter tires would have made a huge difference and maybe saved your car. This is not coming from a place of hate it's coming from trying to Educate so we don't make These same mistakes

This was on Mt Lemmon it looks like, we got some snow down here in Tucson which is very unusual, nobody runs winter tires here, only all seasons because it's all you need here. Even when it snowed a small bit here in tucson early this year, the snow usually remains on the mountain, or in southern/northern AZ. The snow was not enough to justify having to have snow tires either. They also almost always close the roads to Mt Lemmon when the snow hits, and only local traffic who have 4WD trucks or cars with snow tires can go up.

Using summer tires in the winter, snowing or not, no matter who esle is doing it is extremely dangerous for both you and others on the road. Get some all seasons if you want but anything is better than what youre doing. Its not even saving money as your summers are likely ruined by now anyways. Awd does not make your brakes or traction better. After youre rolling might as well not even matter if you have awd with this setup. Matter of fact might as well throw ur brakes away too doing this.

Looks like you got the STI short shifter added in your package which is nice (unless it’s just the shift knob) I just took delivery of my limited about 2 weeks ago and loving ittt. they wanted 40 for it but was able to get it out the door for 38 after tax,tag, and title. (I used to sell cars as well but did it a lil longer so I definitely learned how to negotiate. I got mine in the ceramic white also!
