Is it possible to achieve this tone using the Boss GT-1 pedalboard? can anybody help me? thanks.
@U2GuitarTutorials2 күн бұрын
I don't know that unit. Most of the tone is in the AC-30 amp, guitar and distortion pedal. Edge had a fairly straightforward rig for this song given it's much older. If the Boss has a great amp model, then you should be able to. But the key is getting the guitar and amp tone first. Then add a drive that works and then delay. Build it up. It's a process. Don't expect to get it right away. It took me months at the beginning to learn to build up these tones. If you don't enjoy the time going into experimenting, then you will get frustrated. It takes patience. BTW, if you want a good shortcut to avoid spending time finding a good amp model, then get one of these: www.tech21nyc.com/products/sansamp/liverpool/. I used it on my Streets cover. This nails the AC-30 tone. Then use your GT-1 for the distortion and delay into this amp modeler. Make sure you use a humbucker guitar with a pup that is not too hot like I used in the Gibson Explorer.

Amazing attention to detail and to the possibilities! Thank you for your time and dedication and, yes, this is certainly their most wonderful tune (imo)!

It would be great to have an update for the axe fx3. I tried to copy down some of the same parameters in the aiwiy tutorial but i just cant dial in the quacky sound even though i have a noiseless pickup strat

Hi. I don't have to much cash, but what would be a good dual delay pedal to use. You state it should be done in parallel... thx Kevin

It's a term that's been around for decades. I learned about it back in 2005 or so.

If you have to teach someone how to play a power chord, they probably don't have the skill to play this song.

Thank you for a thorough tutorial. I’m preparing to play and sing this song for my fiancé at our wedding 💍 along with harvest Moon by Neil Young😅. I like the guitar part in the original song around 3:08 - 3:26. Any ideas of what edge is playing. I would be grateful for any help I can get 🤔 Best regards llars from Denmark

Enfin Michael est de retour....des années d'attente pour reprendre (je l'espère) et apprendre les techniques guitare de The EDGE. Sans tes cours sur le Net je n'aurais jamais pu me perfectionner..Un immense merci. Finally Michael is back....years of waiting to resume (I hope) and learn guitar techniques from The EDGE. Without your online courses I would never have been able to improve myself. A huge thank you.

Good job! During the 2nd part after sustainer, do you use bridge PU alone or combinated with middle PU?

Thank you for the kind words, but I just work hard to imitate. Just muscle memory after listening to it a million times and playing it over and over. Unlike me, I'm sure your an accomplished guitarist after 25 years. I can't improvise but I can learn to play what I see and hear.

Neck pup is a sustainer. You can get kits and build them in or buy a Fernandez guitar which builds them in.

This sounds so great, how did you get the infinite sustain without an ebow?
@nick_theplaneguy52633 ай бұрын
This tutorial is amazing, I didn’t think I would be able to get the entire sound sounding precisely like what I listen to but with this entire series it sounds on point including all the small details the edge adds in. I use an EH canyon for delay/modulation and I use its shimmer mode on 100 for the sustainer part and it works but requires me to bend down and switch the effect.

Props man, this is great. In the spirit of constructive criticism, something seems off in the first section of the main riff. The tone is spot-on, but the delay seems slightly off. Edge's guitar makes a crisp "tack-a-tack-tack-a" beat with his delay/strumming, especially at the higher tone/harmonic. Yours is close, but comes off slightly muddled. Anyway, hope this helps.
