I have this watch. I've had it for a while and just love it. In my opinion, if one had to do the mythical "one watch collection", this watch would be it. For me the Pelagos is nearly perfect.

Interesting comparison, but for me, the winner is a third watch that's not even present: the GS in steel.

I sometimes wonder why GS puts display backs on this movement. I don't think it's particularly beautiful, and the watch is quite chunky too, so shaving off a millimeter or two would be welcomed. I also have a hard time understanding why they put text on the display back, so you can't properly see the movement, nor can you properly read the text. I love the watch overall, but some design decisions like these baffle me.

Completelly agree. Everytime I look at my watch it pleases my eyes. I have the white(beige) version with gold markers and dark cognaic leather strap. It is close to perfection.

Straight calendar watches are obsolete by now. be at least an "annual calendar"--which self-adjusts for months of different lengths--to be impressive. Nobody's going to want to reset this every other month.

I like the solid caseback. Why should almost every movement have to be visible these days? Only the most beautifully decorated movements should be.

all the games Bremont has played with branding now makes them feel gimmicky. These are just the same as "themed" watches from entry level microbrands. Bremont is a hard no. They wanted to so badly to be an aviation watch brand so let me quote an aviation movie: "Negative Ghost Rider the pattern is full..."
