Anybody who is saying this is bad form isn't a boxer. I understand inside boxing isn't taught much to beginners but there is times you want to be closer to your oppenent. Especially when you're the shorter fighter, think Mike Tyson. He's using an inside clinch technique. I call it a bump (you can see how he frames with his left arm. This creates space to set up shots were there wasn't before. It can also put your opponent off balance or keep them against the ropes. Watch "Practice Inside Fighting On The Heavy Bag" by "Into The Trenches" not where I learnt it from but it looks like he covers it. But honestly anybody who even puts up there side guard occasionally when hitting the bag is better than 75% of people who have stepped foot in a gym.

Try to crush a soda can without bending the sides. It's sturdy, but bend it and the same force will bend it. The wrist is that same weak spot in your arm, and tensing it keeps it rigid. One one hand you want to stay loose to contract muscles easily to generate power, but on impact you don't want to be a wet noodle. You want to maintain integrity in your arm so it can transfer all the weight going forward. Forearm training is pretty simple. Just do heavy lat pulldowns and get a massive pump in them. That will build resistance to fatigue. Also, I'd caution against using sound as an indicator. If you punch the bag hard it will push back and you'll feel it.

@@deadmouse28 precision beats power, and timing beats speed, being fast and unorthodox only works if youre gifted like Pacquiao. @@gamingthisera6339hey man, you say yourself you're just a fan that "practice a bit of boxing," who are you to give any advice whatsoever? You don't know enough to speak on it at all. Go train. Go spar. Get beat up and learn that you have no idea what you're talking about. It's way different to sit and watch a fight than to stand in a ring yourself. Until you do that you really have no idea

Some boxers have a really low, forward stance like that. It is completely fine with active defense in boxing. In almost any other art except wrestling, this stance is super horrible.

He looks like he's going to kiss the bag too. No reason to be that close with your head in a fight or the bag lol I watched a fighting video that actually described this and why it's bad to do so I'm not claiming to be an expert myself but even I could see that's not good form and guard.
