The hawker at chinatown was actually at the 2nd floor in that building where you all started. Its the biggest hawer center in singapore
@Mintexplores5 күн бұрын
Oh, thank you for sharing that:) we will go there next time 🙏🏻
@nilarwin857 күн бұрын
i don't suggest that you eat shark fins at hawker centres . Because you won't see the shark fins probably, just the egg soup and some crab meat instead of shark fins . If you really want to eat shark fins, go to the Thai Village Restaurant, which is very nice and you can try the shark fins in big piece. Of course it is much more expensive .

Newton Hawker Center has mostly tourist customers. Heartland hawker Centers caters to neighbourhood residents where you can try char kway teow and Hokkien mee-flavourful fried noodles. Try visiting Tiong Bahru market for local food between 10-11am is better. Take the East-West train.

You can go for city tour on Duck Boat tours- amphibian. If you have a day to spare, I also suggest you take a public bus. End to end is about one hour. You will see many places of Singapore. From Harbourfront, you can take bus 65 to Tampines terminal (south end to almost east end)

Welcome to Singapore! Just sharing some comments for you to consider: Peranakan - Katong/ Joo Chiat area (Go to the Singapore Visitor Centre @Kim Choo Kueh Chang to pick up a pamphlet before exploring) Chinese - Chinatown Buddha Tooth Relic temple (vegetarian food court hidden in the basement, air-conditioned)/ Teahouse (Tea Chapter - traditional style, SILK tea bar - modern) Malay - Bugis/ Kampong Glam/ Haji Lane/ Geylang Serai Indian - Little India/ Tekka Centre (hawker food with many old stalls)/ Mustafa Centre (24 hour shopping centre, very busy) Colonial - City Hall and museums If you ever miss a taste of home, there is a Swedish cafe called Fika along Beach Road (Bugis area) which has been open for more than a decade (not IKEA) 😊
