I started with P&V and something felt off, so I switched to a Haward and Harari cheap paperback and liked it more. UNTIL this past weekend when I listened to long parts of P&V audio version and loved that! So I guess I'm suggesting you try P&V and then switch if it feels off. - Mike

I am enriched by this, watched in entirety-even if I am not without differences (eg. the once-precious to me notion of hierarchy-flattening "Aquarian bottom-upness" which Tomberg weaned me off from.) Want to say something about seeing something of and honouring your individual *vocations*, but can't manage much more than that mumbling just now. Still, moved by a strong sense of integrity and beauty with all three of you.

Back in the 1980's, when Therese was working at a Denver, Colorado bookstore called "Together Books" she sold me the first book by Steiner I ever read. More than 100+ Steiner books by now for me. In 1992, then living in Woodstock, NY, my then ladyfriend was having a mastectomy at Benedictine Hospital in Kingston, NY. At the hospital, they asked their surgery patients to bring some favorite and familiar music on a tape cassette (remember those?) to play before the surgery in order to relax the patient. I put together a cassette of Therese's music (because my lady and I both loved it) I curated from Therese's CDs Rosa Mystica, The Queen's Minstrel, and In Dulci Jubilo (all great albums, by the way, and worth seeking out still). The surgery staff loved the music so much they had it play throughout the surgery and after the surgery asked my ladyfriend if they could keep the tape to play during future surgeries. I suppose they realized that the music helped them relax and focus and brought them a proper feeling of service and "protection." I still have those CDs, of course, and play them regularly. Wonderful. Thanks, Therese!

Serious question for Michael. I'm using electroculture in my garden for the first time this year as well. From the point of view of the sky looking down, in which direction does the copper coil turn? Clockwise or counterclockwise? Lots of disagreement on this all over the place. Also, so far, my plants are very healthy and there are no pests in sight. (Knock on wood.) We'll see how things progress.

I happened to notice Polikoff’s book has a blurb by Geert Vanden Bossche, who is the former Senior Ebola Program Manager for GAVI - seriously? Another sign good things are actually happening? I notice you’re testing the waters by only uploading the voice-only podcast version of this confab. If it manages to hold its place, please follow suit put up your video version as well, gentlemen. /// Good heads up from Polikoff near the end: “We have to transform science, as Rudolf Steiner indicated, transform our way of thinking... we can't go into the future just leaving modern science alone, and worshipping according to old religious norms without confronting the cleft between science and religion. As Emerson said, the divorce between holiness and the intellect has to be healed. There has to be a modern rejuvenation that allows science, religion, art, economics all to be thought in a new unified way.”

In my as yet unappreciated efforts to enlighten this Preparata fellow concerning his adolescent infatuation with Veblen and his unforgivable use of arguably the worst book ever written, "Imperial Germany," I returned to a truly wonderful book, "The Politics of War." By Walter Karp. In the bibliography of that work is "Freedom of Speech," by Zechariah Chafee, Professor in Law, Harvard University. It is not my intention to write a book report, rather I would like to relate a sensation I experienced reading the book. The smell of fear. It even made me fearful, the description of the distopian atmosphere during and after World War One. The lynchings, tar and feathering, the beatings and prosecutions against anyone with the slightest criticism of the War against Germany. I will report one phrase I encountered, "anti-war propaganda." Never in my life have I ever come across a more misplaced connection of two concepts. Propaganda is ALWAYS pro-war. Again the distopian atmosphere produced a world of fear and the first stage of the takedown of the Republic and the Constitution. Second stage was the Great Depression.

A Midsummer Night's Dream. The entire plot is instigated by a tussle between the king (Oberon) and queen (Titania) of the fairies over the possession of a "changeling boy." At the end, the rift is overcome and the king and queen are together again. But the concerns of the elemental world regarding this "not-quite-human" being is the basis of the play. This connects to the very long-term interest elementals supposedly have with humans, including wanting to mate with them in order to strengthen their own life force. This interest dovetails quite exactly with the interest of "extra-terrestrials" to "mate" with humans.

I was spellbound the Theurgy of Deerstalking and have sent it to several friends but couldn't find much about Sebastian Morello online. This has filled that gap perfectly. Such a rich conversation. Thank you. Although the only animal I've ever killed was a rabbit with myxomatosis and can't imagine ever shooting anything, I agree entirely with the moral attitude to hunting expressed here and the necessity of eating only meat reared happily. I am proud of persuading my future daughter in law, that eating venison was the most ethical and sustainable thing to do when she was on the point of going vegetarian.

Great convo. If you talk again, it'd be interesting to hear what you all have to say about the Mass. I might be wrong, but I believe that Sebastian attends a Traditional Latin Mass. But I do know that for all the acknowledged weaknesses of the Novus Ordo, Michael does not see renewal and reinvigoration coming the TLM. What then, liturgically speaking, is the way out, through and forward? Because the experience of the sacred you find in hunting should be a felt reality in church as well.

Veganism and vegetarianism cause the greatest destruction of animal, insect, and plant life in the modern world. You have to destroy so much life to raise avocados, say. The best approach to farming is Steiner's biodynamic approach where everything is used in a contained world that recycles everything.

"Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored." Huxley. Imperial Germany is one of the most dishonest books ever written, propaganda so easily disproven that for Preparata to use it in his book defies logic. To base a book on the recognition of the formally understood concept of "perfidious Albion" and then to advocate the dismantling of Europe by the hand of the merciless Brits defies credulity. The notorious "Morgenthau Plan" had as its inspiration the process imposed on the Subcontinent of India. Deindustrialization moving 98 percent of the population to agriculture, maiming and killing any Indians commiting the crime of weaving.

15 minute cities are about designing cities in such a way to provide all the usual amenities within some reasonable distance (like a 15 minute walk), It is not the literal interpretation. This is more prominent in the US because of car centric planning. What they're essentially asking for are closer grocery stores, entertainment, or places to hang out like cafes because somehow that will restore a sense of togetherness. The problem is it is yet another false promise, people think the physical arrangement of the structures of capital is what's leading to the feeling of detachment and disenchantment, and not the capital itself.
