The punch was after the bell but every fighter is warned to protect yourself at all times. This is one of the biggest shockers in boxing, completely unexpected result in a fight that Starling was dominating, completely. I watched it live.

No doubt in my mind that Rone (R.I.P) would have won by a TKO if this was more than 4 rounds.

This looked like a fixed fight. And if it truly was, I'm surprised Mercer would take part in that he seemed like he had too much self respect to stoop that low.

I sparred Diego to get him ready for this fight. When Ray called me and asked me to spar with Diego to help him prepare for the World Title, I said No at first because I had retired 3 years ago! But, I agreed to do it for Ray. The 1st 2 weeks was murderous for me because Diego was sharp and ring savvy. Diego kicked my ass for the first 2 weeks and then I started getting Diego a little. Not much though, and I knew that Diego was going to get that belt. RIP Champ!

Barrera was a monster for so many years. Easily one of my favorite Mexican fighters, and my favorite of the late 90's-2000's era. Jr Jones showed a lot of heart in this fight. It looked like he was outclassed, but he forced Barrera to pump the breaks, and be too conservative towards the middle rounds. Once Jones started picking up the volume, all of the sudden it was like Barrera started waiting for him to gas himself out instead of continuing to deliver crushing body shots. Barrera had every chance to win, and was the better boxer, but he simply let Jr Jones outwork him, and that point deduction for the low blows didn't help matters for him. It happens, and Barrera probably learned a lot from that fight. Jr Jones had some real grit.

Since the Olympics, Dirrell had never learned how to improve, always the same dirty tactic, grabbing, grabbing and grabbing, he had never been able to be a brave and honest fighter, always playing dirty, grabbing too much, hitting like cowards, a terrible fighter, a shame, a terrible example, a fake .
