Just be yourself! No experience is required! LHR just wants to see your thought processes and problem solving skills! But it would be nice to know some EE stuff if ur interviewing with LHR for that.

Should be easy to make friends even if you put a little effort! ECE honors keeps the cohort together for our intro classes so it's even easier to find and make friends!

Hi! I'm a 5th year mechE and Design double major at UT, and this video definitely made me smile- I'm glad to see other engineers cherishing their time at UT :D! Also, the clip of Domino (the campus cat) T-T. Boy do I miss him. Keep up the good work!!

I watched this video months ago and it was one of many that made me dreaaammmm of studying engineering at ut. I just got accepted into bme the other day and am going to be a longhorn in the fall of '24!! I'm super excited and super nervous lol, so thank you for sharing your experience!

Oh wait, are you ECE Honors? I'm also doing that, class of 2027. Really cool to see that. Which UGS did you end up choosing? Also how do the FIGS work? I heard there are two FIGS for ECE Honors and spots are limited? I'm meeting with Libby from 11:00-11:30 so kinda late.

Yep! Congrats on getting in! I chose power up. I’m pretty sure everyone should have a spot in a fig but I do know some people who couldn’t get into one because they were in the last session. Speaking to Libby will be your best choice here if anything occurs. I didn’t take a UGS yet!! You don’t have to do it first year, and I’m probably gonna push mine off till later lol. For honors, FIGS are just an hour a week classes where a mentor can teach you abt college, campus life, classes,etc.

@@angelasrsh Thank you so much for your advice! My roommate(he had 1st session orientation) only had the choice to take power up, but he told me, if I can, I should take short circuit bc it allows for more free time. Also, have you claimed any gov or history credits? I looked it up and HCC gives 6 hours for APUSH so I'll prob transfer my history credits from there. But I couldn't find any CC that gives 6 hours for AP Gov, so the only option is to take the GOV 310L Texas portion test and then 312L? Or would you recommend taking AP credit for GOVT 2305 at HCC and then taking GOVT 2306 over the summer also at HCC, so that it doesn't show on my UT GPA?

@@amem3244 Im not really sure about that question. But I think it should be best to go with the cheaper option. Although yeah you’re going to eventually have to take gov or his to fulfill the requirements. There’s really no difference in taking it at a CC or at UT, I think both classes from what I’ve heard are pretty easy. If you’re able to take the Gov test at UT then that should be a good option as well.

@@angelasrsh Is there a certain code or something specific to your orientation that you need or something you only know if you went to that orientation to register for classes because Im in session 7 and I'm not tryna get any 8 am classes 🥺🥺

@@syndicalistspeedsolver not really a specific code or anything, but ik fs that spots for math and classes for your major will be reserved for you during your orientation. Things like ugs and vapa might be full by the last session.

@@eva7502 Kins for sure, but it's not the best lmao. Less chance of food poisoning and more vegan/vegetarian options. you can trust the food they put out a bit more than J2 or JCL too loll

Angela, I attended the "1972 Orientation" that was based out of Kinsolving Dormitory....I was like you, ALWAYS early to everything...so much enthusiasm....it was a magical time....went on to be the "right front puller of BIG BERTHA" and then "Varsity" Cheerleader for '74-'76 (back then, there were 5 guys and 5 gals, even though our enrollment was 44,000, not the 110 people that are now on the sidelines....it was a BIG deal! Study hard, make great friends and get their names and contact info and stay in touch with them for a lifetime!!! THIS is YOUR time and SOAK IT UP!!! UT is a GREAT INSTITUTION and you are now part of an elite group!!! ENJOY!!! & HOOK'em!!!, always!!!
