Nice , Thermal imaging camera is a very useful thing, I also use it myself when it comes to batteries, you can easily detect cells that are heating up during charging and discharging, it increases the standard of work

I have a personal story to share with everyone. I’m a DIYer who didn’t know a lot about power tools when I first started buying them. My first brushless combo was the Dewalt DCD777 and the DCF787. I’ve seen several comments about how the DCD777 isn’t good because it has a plastic chuck. I have owned it, and used it, for several years now. With the exception of one time, the chuck has worked flawlessly. The clutch is also very consistent.

Cracking explanation of how this item works 💯👍
@doctorlefthandthread7 күн бұрын
So fiddly and confusing hopefully that helps people
You should measure the voltage of all 5 cell groups in the battery before doing anything. This will indicate if this battery is worth salvaging, or serve as a cell donor. Don't start working on replacing the first group, to later find out that two other groups are bad. To optimize this battery's capacity, you should also balance the cells in the battery. All of them should read the same voltage. When the battery is in use, the thing will stop powering your tool as soon as the first cell is depleted. When the battery is on charging, the charger will stop as soon as the first cell gets full. No matter the state of charge of the other cells. A good Li-ion battery has a load-balancing circuit for its cells. Tool batteries usually only have protection, so the manufacturer gets to sell more of them.

Another one power tool battery saved from scrapyard! For easier desoldering you could try a desoldering pump. Even a cheap one can do the job.
