I didn't realise how advanced it was for its age. A truly ground (air) breaking aircraft for the mid 50s. I love the EE Lightning, but this did the same job with one engine.

It is hard to believe that within few years the flying machines advanced so fast from the Catapult technology of early nineties. Is this due to new brains or skill build-up or that human was just not aware of their skills.

I was just imagining how the Ukrainians would put the Harrier to good use with its vertical lift off and landing capabilities. Most probably they would have them parked near the front lines hidden from view, and they would be used for close range devastating airpower attacks and then land again effectively disappearing from enemy radar like UFO's.

We do some stupid things in this country. Selling our Harriers to the US and buying the F35 from the US. I mean look at the F35 wallowing around on its "dead weight" engine trying to land vertically then look at the rock-steady Harrier going forwards, backwards, sideways, anyways. And we get rid of our paid for capable, reliable Hercs and replace them with A400Ms we can't afford. Bonkers.

It began to be designed years later than the first Hariers man during the 80's and early 90's... Even his old brother Yakovlev Yak-38 was designed after the first Harriers of the UK...

Amazing footage! That looks like a large (a type of salamander and an older one?) siren the bird caught! The sea creature was struggling, but the hungry Heron managed to fully consume (alive?!) it all okay? It looked like the unlucky thing was still desperately kicking inside too! I wonder, does the siren stand any chance of escaping if eaten in that condition? Maybe it can turn around inside the elastic throat/stomach and has a chance of survival here.

I already had watched this and he seems very logical. I get my R7 today and will be testing it with the 400mm 5.6 both with and without 1.4 extender 3. I will come back and share my experience in a couple of days. I mainly shoot small fast birds and hawks.

I hope the focus isn't this bad! I'm hoping your settings were off. I get better results than this on my 5D mark 4 and I just ordered the R7. Hoping the R7 you had wasn't setup or working right.

People tell me I should have turned off eye tracking. I am testing the 100-500 this week it will be interesting to see if that is better. R7 is good on still subjects, but even then, you may need to turn off tracking as the focus can wander off the subject. I use R7 mainly for video as ibis is better than my Sony A1.

I think part of the problem may be sensor readout time which is 30ms vs. 4ms for Sony A1 and Nikon Z9.

Amazing footage! That looks like a huge fish the hungry Cormorant caught and swallowed (do you know what kind? Eaten still alive?!) here! The fish seemed to be resisting and not too happy to stare down the bird’s throat! 😧🐟😅 I wonder, can the fish stand a chance of escaping the elastic neck/stomach if eaten in that condition?? It’s so big, maybe it can still survive.

You should position yourself so that you have lighter backgrounds, like the sky, so that you can isolate the birds better. Or have the background further away from the bird.

@@lbeetech if you look on my KZfaq channel you will see bird eyectracking video with Sony A1 I shot a white back. I am about to post a video I shot at the same time as the R7 for comparison. The point is in my hands the R7 with 100-400 is as good as some reviews claim.

Definitely subsonic. It had a problem during this flight and had to cut the dispaly short which was a shame. Pity we don't see it more often.
