This episode was set in the year 1882. By that time, the Western Plains Indians had all been subdued and confined ( imprisoned ) on reservations. Their vast, open hunting grounds were confiscated and thrown open to white settlement. The buffalo, on which they had been so dependent upon for their survival, was almost extinct. It was a time of violent and brutal change .

I can see why Ben Cartwright divorced this lady, I wonder if she's the mom of Adam or Hoss or Little Joe.

Such a delight!😁 Ginger would've been a stellar Alice on the screen. Thanks a million for this. I'll have to see about finding this shellac set for my record collection. I love how her real personality shows through her acting. It's cute but also quite humorous...had me rolling! She got quite a bit of fan mail from children. One child wanted her to come to their house to play. That is SO sweet.💖 1:27..."will this fall never come to an end? {swoosh}...oh. It did."🤣 3:45 "Something's happening again! Curiouser and curiouser...I'm shutting up! I'm growing smaller and smaller...oh I'm sure I'm not going to like this...{gasp} it might end in my going out all together like a candle...{gasp} yes! {final gasp before her demise!} Here I go, I'm going out, I'm going out..." DING "ope my chin just hit my foot."😂

Oh that classic Ginger look! 28:00 😍 As far as I'm concerned, the so called, "creators" of, "The Patty Duke Show" stole this concept from Ginger. 'Tis a shame to not have more of this...Ginger was never properly given credit for what she deserved. I found this to be a delight.😁

Ginger was 49 here and, apparently taking very good care of herself as she is clearly in great shape. It was fun seeing her do more modern stuff after her years of basically ballroom dancing in her movies with Fred Astaire.

She's clearly been working on the stage rather than for movies, her motions and expressions are much 'bigger' than the way she acted for the camera. Her dancing is terrific, hard to believe she was well into her fifties here. A few months after this clip, Rogers would take over 'Hello Dolly' on Broadway, for more than 1100 performances. She burned the town down with critics raving and every single performance sold out. And from here, Hugh O'Brien went to work with Lana Turner in 'Love Has Many Faces.'

Either they cut a lot out or they needed a longer format for this episode because it was too disjointed and moved too quickly, though the ending was a hoot.
