What a fantastic educational video. In todays world its frustrating to be able to even have a proper discussion about benzodiazepines without it being hijacked by the mass 'anti-benzodiazepine' crowd that has gone way over the top tbh. I am not at all downplaying the possible side effects as they are real. But it has gotten to a level imo now (especially on newer and younger doctors) where some completely refuse to even practice medicines very basics when it comes to benzodiazepines being the cross benifit analysis which is different for every single patient. There ARE some, a minority, but many still that actually long term use of benzodiazepines is the best options when quality of life is decided to outweigh the cons.

This is called the somatic theory of cancer. Modern people believe the metabolic theory of cancer which makes it clear that it's the mitochondria that go wrong. The cell mutations are a downstream effect. Look after your mitochondria.

Hey Eric thank you so much for your videos! Could you also include lectures about parasympathikus and Sympathikus as well as sedative-hypnotics, antipsychotics, antidepressiva and anesthetics? The best would be talking about some relevant drugs for example aripripazole, haloperidol, melperone, quetiapine, risperidone their mechanism of action, pathophysiology, indication, side effects and contraindications… it would help me so much Best wishes from Germany

How does one estimate AUC, clearance, and volume of distribution with sampling post-distributional peak AND trough? How many pharmacies have access to Bayesian analysis software?

so if i understand correctly an agonist stimulates the working of a certain process and the antagonist is the one that inhibits a certain process?

This is a great introduction to pharmacokinetics. I shared it with my students. I noticed a typo you might want to fix. Distribution is is misspelled in the slide shown around 6 minutes into the video.

Is this information true or false? Anything that should be edited? Rivaroxaban is a type of medicine you call an anticoagulant. It makes your blood flow through your veins more easily. This means your blood will be less likely to make a dangerous blood clot. People who are at risk of developing a blood clot include those who have an irregular heartbeat, unstable angina, coronary heart disease, peripheral arterial disease, or recently had a surgery to replace a hip or knee joint. It's also used to treat people who have had a health problem caused by a blood clot, such as a stroke, a heart attack, a blood clot in the leg, or a blood clot in the lungs.
