They were held by wires from above to my knowledge

Each of the platforms has 8 cables attached to it, 2 in each corner, which in turn are attached to winches on both sides of the roof. The winches turn in each direction which in turn will lower and raise the platforms up and down :) you can see this quite clearly on the official footage of the halftime show. It's a a system used a lot in touring shows when you need to move the performer or stage props around the venue (see videos of Pink performing So What on her recent tours to get an idea of the process)

@@nicholasbroun985 it’s actually 4 cables on each platform 1 on each corner and the way the move them up and down is there’s a really heavy weight on them if you want to go up the weight goes down if you wanna go down the weight goes up i know this because my father helped with the stage production

Absolutely!! Attended 91 different WWF/WWE events and this one was a thriller

The aestetics definitely helped but I loved the simple stage design with the added features, lights, and pyro
