headed up to hubbard lake myself for a couple weeks. Haven't had much success there in July the past few years besides the occasional biggin on a drop off with a ned rig. Staying on the north side near east bay. Is it too late to use a cindy? Maybe we aren't fishing deep enough. No electronics on the boat besides a gps lake map on my phone. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Heading to Windermere Lake in Ontario this week. Coming from Va I have 0 smallie experience and don’t think I’ll be taking my rig so I’ll have limited electronics. But seems like you can catch them good without all the fancy stuff

Ben I need to refill my spools ...should I use backing for my fluorocarbon and braid rods and if so what line and size ?
@brnowak_fishing2 күн бұрын
I would use backing. I typically just use line from my old reels as backing to fill about 1/3of the spool before I put my main line

Is a 4000 size spinning reel to large for these lighter and longer rods?
@brnowak_fishing4 күн бұрын
@@randygrueb7058 no not necessarily, whatever you can cast furthest with. Normally the larger the reel, the easier line comes off, so the farther you can throw

Great video Ben amd I got my hands finally last month on the Great Lakes Finesse Underspin in both silver and the gold blades. I only picked up spicy melon as I have so many different small plastic style swimbaits to try the underspin with. I really like the Megabass okishira screw head and will use that with similar straight plastic swim baits like the Cindy Rig. Will hopefully get out end of July as going on vacation for over 2 weeks so no fishing till I am back. Can't wait to try them out and keep the great videos coming!

Hey Ben, my channel is based out of Southern Maine. We fish for a lot of River Smallmouth Bass and practice catch and release. My goal along with my peers on this channel, is to catch some decent sized Smallies. I don't have any videos up yet but there are some coming soon. If you wouldn't mind subscribing it would be a huge help! and if you want to possibly in your next video give my channel a shoutout. I’ve always said that Hubbard lake reminds me of a mini Burt Lake. Laid out very similar. The mayfly hatch can be a fun time if you can it just right with the weather!
@bobpayseno748121 күн бұрын
This was a great insight to your approach on breaking down a lake before a tournament. I think your strategy sounds sound but topwater bites can be temperamental when you get weather changes. If the wind blew, I would be flinging a chartreuse and white spinnerbait. It has always caught me quality fish and that’s what you need in a tournament. Good luck!!👍🏻🍀

Pretty sad that you’re pushing Temu rip offs. I’m all about budget fishing, but all these products are just basically stolen from people who put tons of time and money into designing them and making them. Then marketing them and paying fisherman represent them. It is no different than someone taking all your videos from KZfaq and just changing your name by adding a number on it or something and creating a new account to profit from your work. This is what makes real products so expensive. They have a short window to make money because people steal their designs. So then they are forced to cut on other things like packaging to try to bring you a product that they poured their heart and soul into.
